Internet insecurities
Ok, this has been bugging me for a while. The internet has been around for a while, there are a lot of tools to do a lot of different jobs. Telnet, FTP, POP3, etc... they're all insecure protocols. Anyone that knows anything uses SSH for terminal sessions. But it's not the "standard" yet. FTP doesn't have any real secure options, not really. POP3 or IMAP you can do over SSL I suppose, but no one uses it. These are pretty big security holes in my opinion. Well now that the Internet is getting more mature, why aren't more efforts being made to standardize some of these security holes? Am I the only one that sees this?
