Once upon a time....

Once upon a time, circa RedHat 6.2 I used Linuxconf to set the permissions and access on my shared FAT32 partition. Now with all the upgrades I've lost that configuration and 7.2x doesn't have Linuxconf; so, how do I do this manually? Any help, pointers, hints? I suspect I'm looking at the fstab and a permit on /dev/hdd/?
