Fun with archaic hardware
So, this is maybe slightly off topic, but I've been looking around and thought, if someone's gonna know it, it'll probably be in here.
So, I just recently got Yellow Dog Linux installed on my old Powermac 7500, and that's running great, fine and dandy. The other day, I got the idea to embark on yet another project, this time for no other reason to say that I did it. Seeing if I can get some sort of non Apple, open source OS on my Mac Classic.
It has a Motorola 68000, runs at a whopping 8 Mhz, has 4 megs of ram (wooo!), and a 40 meg hard drive. Display is a 9" 1 bit screen at 512 x 342. Also has a 1.4 meg floppy drive, and I've managed to make bootable zip disks with my zip drive for it (connected via SCSI).
Somehow I'm doubting my chances, but I figured i'd give it a shot. Won't someone please help encourage my mad scientist cravings? :)
