Unable to output laptop to monitor

I am using Fujitsu E-7010 laptop, with ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 32MB DDR-RAM (32 bit) on a 14.1 SXGA+ TFT 1600x1280 / 16 M Colours / 85Hz. I am having problems displaying my output to an ordinary monitor. When I rebooted my laptop, I can see the bios output on my monitor. After grub, it just poof and no more display. Anyone having the same problems? I have not had this kind of problems with other laptops like Compaq or Mitac, so I am kind of stuck. I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks in advanced.
