OS X
I've recently switched to one of Apple's new iBooks, running OS X. I was sick of trying to get Linux (even the latest distros) working with the hardware on my notebook, I was sick of XP crashing and wanting to know my inside leg measurement... and I like this. I now have what I see as a *nix notebook with hardware that works. I can run my perl scripts and so on as much as I like, or I can ignore it and use the GUI. You can build stuff that's reliable and safe and looks good.
Right now, for most people, if they came to me and said "I want to buy a computer", I'd advise them to get a Mac, rather than a Windows box or a Linux box that I know I'd have to spend hours on the phone telling them how to configure :)
I was wondering whether other Linux users had had experience of OS X, and what they thought of it? What the pros and cons were in their opinion?
I'm not trying to evangelise here, I'm just interested to know what other people's opinions are. I'm impressed personally but I've not had that much time to really scour around for things that might annoy me.
