Java in Mozilla

I've downloaded both Sun's java implementation of Java, as well as Blackdown's build specifically for GCC 3.2 (I'm running Debian unstable).

I've followed the directions by making a symlink to libjavaplugin_oji.so in the mozilla plugins directory, but I'm not getting anything when I try and open an applet.

Is there some way I can fix this?
