The mystery Linux installation.
Okay, here's a wierd one. A friend (and no Freudian jokes here) owns a laptop with a 6 Gig HD and no floppy, 10/100, or CD-ROM. He wants to install Linux and all he really has that connects to the outside world is a serial port and an in-built modem. Can someone suggest a distribution or method that installs without the need for floppy, CD, or network?
Note: We do not want to surgically remove the HD to install on another machine. The cables for the HD are not EIDE and futzing with them could be problematic. We need to do the install in-situ. Remember: No network. No floppy. No CD. Only a serial port and a modem. (Oh, and Microsoft Windows95 product is pre-installed, but that kind of goes without saying)
