plunge

so i'm pretty convinced that i want to sell my g4 mac and start building my own linux box. it's not a huge plunge since i've used linux before. two things i'm "concerned" about.

1) music production on a linux box. this isn't a huge deal. just curious as to what's out there. i was told that reason could run on linux but i checked their page and didn't see any mention of it. i'm interested in all aspects, sampling, loop based software, beat production, mixing, etc.

2) i don't want to dual boot. i want just a linux box and that's it. is that crazy?
