Laptops and Serial Ports
We found an old laptop here in the back room. It's a Toshiba Satellite Pro 415CS. It has RedHat 6.2 and seems to be working great. Basically I just want to use for some network testing (nmap, ntop, etc) and to console (serial) into some equipment around the office here. It has minicom installed, but I can't for the life of me get it to see the serial (DB9) port. I read the serial-howto and I've probed all the serial ports and the only one that comes back is /dev/ttyS0 which is the pcmcia modem. I don't think it's seeing the serial port at all. Anyone have any other suggestions to get the serial port to respond.
