Scoll LOCK!
In all unix varations I have used (non-commercial bsd's, various linux distributions) the scroll lock key halts screen output, while allowing extranious input to continue. However, I have a four port belkin switch that uses the scroll lock pressed twice to cycle between computers. Thus, when I arrive at my console machine scoll lock is always high lighted, halting any screen output. I am not able to turn it off sometimes due to the timing sequence on the switch. EX: I hit scroll lock twice then the two key on my keyboard. My kvm takes me to the console machine with the scroll lock lit. I try to depress the scoll lock quick enough for the kvm not to register it as the switch machine command. However, this sequence is very hard to get the scroll lock simply turned off consitantly without switching back to another machine. So, I was wondering if I could modify my kernel to nullify this scroll lock screen halting process? Because I am about to lose it and find a neighborhood cat to bash with a shovel. I am using gentoo 1.4r3, in pretty much console mode exlusivly.
EDIT: Ah, maybe I could just use stty to nullify the key?
