this computer ketchup is pretty good...needs more RAM though...maybe a couple of megachips
Hello all. I'm new to the community, and am just giving a little background.
I really like linux, yet I don't know much about it, since my laptop is really finicky with the distro's I've tried. I'm just repartitioning my HD and am going to try OpenLinux eDesktop 2.4. I need to back up an extensive collection of mp3s so I can really configure my HD to dual boot with more space on the linux partition.
Just to note: My computer is a Compaq 1211CA (1 GHz Athlon/320MB RAM/8 MB ATi Mobility M1/20GB HD/NIC Ethernet card). Before, with man 8.0, I couldn't get my ethernet card working, and I'm aware that there is a tulip driver from that Scyld Corp thing, but I don't know how to invoke it or whatever. I need to learn a little bit more about linux, and it's hard without direct access to the internet. Okay, thats enough rambling.
