Linux n00b
Hey all. I've been using Windows and DOS for years now and thought it was about time I tried Linux. I got myself a copy of SuSE 8.1, installed it and the problems began.
The installation itself went fine, everything seemed okay and by the end I had a nice looking Gnome desktop. Except it looks like I have no Internet access nor access to the other PC on our home network.
I tried downloading the Linux drivers for my modem (USB US Robotics 9000 ADSL modem), downloading the guide for how to install them and following it but still it doesn't work. I get up to the end, run ADI_PPP_Go (my ISP uses PPPoA) but it fails to connect and I have no idea why. I've followed all the steps, tried it multiple times but still I get an error at the end telling me it failed to connect.
So I've no idea what to do next. Anyone have any ideas? If you need any more info about anything just let me know : )
