Gentoo Bootstrap.sh Woes

Well recently I decided to give Gentoo a try(for a few reasons, mostly because Gentoo is simpler than trying to get all the packages I want by hand). So I get Gentoo booted and I fdisk and make all the file systems and what not. None of which is really that hard, then I mount everything and so on till I get to the bootstrap script. When I run Bootstrap.sh it runs normally until it does a sanity test on /lib/cpp, then it spits out an error "/lib/cpp failed sanity test". I've tried to find a solution for the problem but all I've managed to find is some annoying IRC logs.

Anyway thanks for any help. And thanks to all those who told me about memtest86, it really helped. Though I didn't have bad ram, just a stick of ram that was faster than the bus. I also had a bad lan card. Prebuilts are so terrible..
