I've just set up samba on a network in the office today, and i've run into a few things that need answering. Very simple things, im sure. Embarassingly simple, i'm sure.

How do I access the shared folders on a windows machine on the network?
I'm guessing it's something to do with smbclient but I can't figure it out. It only asks for a password upon connecting with the windows machine. Why no user name? What password does it want? Windows people can access my shares fine.

Also, there's a strange thing going on with my internet access(from my linux box) where it allows me to connect to sites only if i type in the IP addy.

Any help would be appreciated. Don't hurt me. :)
