Patents.

I know I'm idealistic, but why not to make patents free for non-commercial use(i suppose we all live in democratic countries, so WE decide which laws to live with)? Patents is nothing but knowlege. And protect inventors from being frauded by other people making money with their inventions.

You cannot patent language, because there are some limitations to patenting. But there's no conceptual difference between language and multithreading. It's knowledge. It's the way to another knowledge. If you disallow people from using knowledge - you stop the progress. Or we have to allow alphabet patenting(i'll be first ;) Or this has to be changed.
