Seeking advice
So I'm a linux newbie, please have mercy. I'm going to set up a machine that will have these primary purposes: A file server, some hard core development (Perl and Kylix), and a test web server (PHP, mySQL, Apache). I'll likely have two hard drives, an 80 Gb and a 160 Gb.
So my questions are:
1) What would you recommend for a partition space (will be filesharing for Windows mostly)? I was thinking likely 40 Gb for Linux, and the rest in Fat32 partitions.
2) What Distro do you recommend? I was thinking of going with Slackware 9.1. I've done the RH thing (Still in love with 7.2), but am wanting to move more towards a real linux machine ;)
3) What are the possibilities for getting Mac and Linux to talk to each other for file sharing?
