Is there any way to get my system to fall back on NetBIOS name lookup when a standard DNS lookup fails? I have servers running on a local (dynamic-IP) network with consistent hostnames, but not necessarily consistent IPs, so /etc/hosts won't work (at least not directly). If anybody knows how to do this, or if there's a tool to automatically detect netbios systems and dynamically change /etc/hosts, I'd be much obliged.
