DVI looks like doodie

Okay. so I have a nifty 19" flat panel NEC monitor + Radeon 9100. Analog looks marvelous. I get me a DVI cable, to hook the DVI out on the video card to the DVI in to the monitor. Now, all the text (black on white background, specifically) is all blurred/rainbowed (like the convergence is off on a CRT monitor). This happens on BOTH the analog AND digital lines coming off the Radeon (displaying the same picture).

If I:
- Remove the DVI cable, the analog still looks bad.
- Remove the DVI cable, and reboot (therefore the card deactivates the DVI connector), it analog looks okay
- Remove the analog cable, so just the DVI is plugged in (and active), the DVI still looks bad.

I would say it's noise on the line, but it's freaking digital - it's supposed to have greater noise immunity, not less.

Ideas?
