note to self: dont buy belkin

Belkin KVM's tend to not be very X friendly, and sometimes when switching between windows and Xfree86 I need to restart X because my mouse gets all dodgy. It just happened again about 5 minutes ago, so I killed X (as usual), go to restart it, and suddenly I'm getting a "Fatal error: no screens found". I'm running 4.0.1, and I don't profess to be an X hacker. I only use it so my terminal sessions can be larger than 80x25. And ideas where I should start? I've been mucking around with my xf86config file, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere. I've got the correct video card/monitor settings, but still this "no screens found" error.

Update: Nevermind, I found a backup copy of my XF86Config hidden deep in my home directory. It works again. :D From now on I'm going to start keeping backups of all config files in a easily remember-able common place. And I figured out what had killed my XF86Config in the first place... the redhat mouseconfig program on my box is incompatible with the XFree4 conf file.
