stumped and annoyed.
so here's the story:
in X, my keyboard stops responding. caps/num lock wont toggle anymore. the programs continue to run just fine, the mouse continues to respond. i obviously cant change virtual terminals because the keys wont respond. here's the kicker: altsq-* still responds. i can kill/terminate, sync, unmount, reboot, etc, etc. doing a killall or terminating all processes doesnt bring my keyboard back, only a reboot.
any suggestions? if it happens again i might throw the computer across the room. (also this is a laptop, so no un/replugging the keyboard.) ive looked everywhere but cant narrow it down to a paticular program even. i can properly close every open program with the mouse, all the way down to raw X, but the keyboard still doesnt return. if i close X, im left with a blinking cursor.
