Does anyone here have Verizon DSL? The price/quality scale has finally tipped out of favor of my craptastic dial-up and I want to switch. DSL is the only real option, and Verizon seems to be the only feasible option for DSL in these parts (Philadelphia). The FAQs on the verizon site are pretty unhelpful, so I was interested the experiences people here may have had with it.
How Linux/non-windows friendly is their service? How lenient are they with port blocking, bandwidth restrictions and the like? Is it possible to get a static IP? How was the actual installation process? I've heard of people waiting forever to actually get their service turned on and having to deal with really unhelpful/nasty/clueless customer service people.
(Yes this is my first post, and yes I am a rank newb. This seems like a friendly and helpful community though, so I hope I'll be posting more.)
