Basic Questions

Just installed Slackware 9.1, happy with it to an extent. It's apparently probing my eth0 ethernet card rather than eth1... how do I go about doing this, because I so far don't have any internet. AHHH sucks

Also what's the command to add a user?
Also, I don't think my sound works right now... is there a way to configure Alsa? I don't remember much about Slackware, so bare with me :)
