Update on Gentoo install

Well I finally got everything done and rebooted.

The second impression is not any better than the first. The system booted without a network interface up and coming up in command line. The latter is fine as I spend quite a bit of time at the command prompt but not what I wanted for a workstation.

Time to bail on this puppy and get things reset to the way they were.

I'll experiment with it some other time. Too bad I was looking forward to seeing this distro in action.
