Does anyone know why the fan seems to run at high speed when running linux on my HP laptop? When I am running windows it speeds up when I am using a great deal of cpu power, but low speed when just sitting idle. With linux it seems like the fan is on high speed all the time even when it is sitting idle for a long time.
