Gallery (OT?)

This might be OT, it's in regards to Gallery.

I'm using Gallery right now for approx 1.1 shit-tons of pictures on my webserver. Something like 4GB worth. Well, my current web/mail server is both out of HDD space on it's array, and showing it's age (it's a quad PPro 200 -w- 1GB of RAM running RH9 (incrementally upgraded from 7.3).

I have a new Dell PowerEdge (1.8ghz P4, 512DDR, 2x30GB HDD on a PERC and three 120GB HDD's on order from Newegg) that I finally have setup to my liking (SuSE9 with a 2.6.3 kernel, PHP, Apache 2.0.48, MySQL, Postfix).

..but.. I don't want to lose all my comments on my piccaz, and also all the descriptions I have spent time on. It would be a nightmare having to redo all of that.

Since Gallery is just PHP based, am I assuming correctly that as long as I have ImageMagik and PHP installed on the new machine, I can just tar everything up onto a nfs share, untar, and just re-run the setup to point to the now-different locations for PHP and ImageMagik? Or do I even need to do that?

Any advice is appreciated.
