hello everyone, dont make fun of me, but i'm still new to this.
yeah, over the past few month i've gotten quite an interest for computers. it started when my friend and i took apart my 2 less than great computers, and he showed me what thngs did, and how to take out and put new things in, and now i have a good enough knowledge of computers, that i can go out, buy parts, and build a computer. but thats not enough...
i have recently becoe extremely interested in computers as mentioned before, and being able to build one just isnt enough. i want to learn everythign i can. i've known just about everythgin about windows for as long as i can rember, and i want a new challenge. a friend of mine has enlightened me to the wonders of linux. well kinda. so far he hos only answered my questions about linux, and at some point, we'll prolly get me outa using windows, and into using linux, but who knows when that will happen. in the mean time i was wondering if any of you could recomend some reading material or give me some links to sites about linux. sites and books that would be good for beginers. i have windows down, but the linux sites i've come across, have thrown me for a loop. it's just a little too technical for me, but i want to change that. a very noteable point from one site i did come across, was that you can't just jump into linux, you need to get an understanding of it first. i dont know if thsi is true but in any case i dont knwo when i'll be actually getting linux and start using it, so in the mean time. i woudl liek to read up about it first. so again any good reading material that woudl be good for beginers woudl be wonderful. again to reiterate beginners. and even better woudl be stuff with alot of analogys, cause that is definately helpful to me, cause grasping an idea by relating it to an idea i already understand is the way i learn stuff the best. thanks in advance.
