Moving the Mouse While Typing
I've done a little diagnosing of my earlier problems with Mouse and Keyboard issues. It seems as though the problem exists both in and out of games (i.e. in X too).
When using the mouse and keyboard at the same time is the ONLY time I experience my problem. When I am doing this, the keyboard continues to function normally (I believe...) but the mouse freaks out, jumps all over the screen and randomly left + right clicks. They both work fine independently of each other.
What could possibly be causing this?
System Info:
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ "Barton"
Asus A7N8X Deluxe Motherboard
1024MB DDR400 RAM
GeForce FX 5200 - 128MB RAM (~100FPS Contact )
Slackware 9.1 (recompiled w/ 2.6.6 Kernel)
Update 1: I should probably mention. I'm using a Logitech Elite USB Keyboard via PS/2 adaptor, and a Logitech MouseMan Dual Optical USB Mouse (however the problem still existed when tried with a 2 button PS/2 ball mouse).
Update 2: My Slackware 9.1 system came with a 2.4 kernel. I have upgraded to a 2.6 (without trying the mouse first), could this upgrade have caused this behavior? Are there new parameters that I should set in a config file because of this kernel upgrade?
Update 3: Could this be an IRQ issue (i.e My PS/2 keyboard and USB mouse are sharing an IRQ)? I really have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to IRQ's.
Update 4: GPM (running outside of X) does not like the mouse whether I'm typing or not.
