Clipboard utilities

Perhaps the most lacking element in Linux is the lack of a standardized clipboard. One can copy something in one application, but it's not going to paste into another.

Not without a clipboard utility, that is.

Now here's why I'm writing this: I've been using Klipper, which gets the job done and it's convenient to use, but kdeinit and klauncher crash when I run certain applications *cough* K3b *cough* and I'm getting sick of having to restart Klipper.

Are there any other apps with similar features that don't rely on KDE's widgets? I've only looked into Gnome Clipboard Manager so far, but since it's no longer being developed (and looks like a bitch to install) I'm not interested.
