XF86 resolution changes..

When I loaded RH 7.3 last night I had my glasses on, so I set my monitor for 1280x1024, tonight I don't have my glasses and would like to drop it down to 1024x760.

I changed /etc/X11/XF86config and XF86config-4, and it's still not changing when I do ctrl-+ or ctrl -.

Am I changing the right files in the right directories?
