Newbie Install

Hey there.

I recently acquired an IBM WinNT box (via dumpster diving, eh). It works (yay!) but of course I don't know the NT password for it. But I'm not really interested in NT or what was on it before; I'd rather drop Linux on it. Question is, which distro?

I was smart enough to get Yellow Dog PPC running on my Mac, but I have years of Mac experience. Not so wintel boxes. I need an install that I can burn to CD(s) as this machine does not have internet access. Here are some specs I gleaned from setup:

Pentium III, 450 MHz, 512 MB L2 Cache, 128 MB Memory (64 MB DIMM x 2), S3 Incorporated Tri 3D Video Controller, 1.44 MB floppy, 6449 MB IDE HD, IDE CD-ROM, Two USB ports. Machine Type/Model 6862N8U, Flash EEPROM Revision Level NVKT49AUS, Boot Block Revision Level NV49A, System Board Identifier HZV7DXR0RW5, BIOS Date 10/18/99.

I'd like to use it for basic learning Linux... and perhaps later as a simple inventory tracker/word processor for my local gamestore.

I should also note that this thing is bloody HUGE.

So... do you experienced folk have a recommendation for me based on this info?

Thanks for the help!
