Samba server as PDC
A little background: the network is a small (<25 machines) ethernet network connected to the outside world via an ADSL connection. It's for a non-profit community center. Ten to twelve machines are going to be used for a "CyberCenter". All are running Windows 2000 except a couple running OS X. I've set up a box with Mandrake 9.2 (because I'm a newbie and didn't have the guts to run anything else yet) and Samba 3.0.2a. I've got a Novell background, but this is my first Linux implementation.
The goal is to have all the users in the CyberCenter to be given an account on the server and then be able to log in to any machine in the center without me having to go to every single W2K machine and manually create their accounts. I've not been able to find any documentation for this, probably because I don't really know what it's called. In Novell it's called a Dynamic Local User policy. The best I can find is to set up Samba to be a Primary Domain Controller (PDC) but will this actually do what I want? Is this feature even available in Samba or should I just wait until we can afford a Novell or Windows server?
Thanks for the help.
