Adobe-Macromedia: Separating Fact from Fiction

The proposed acquisition of Macromedia by Adobe is not a done deal. Both companies are under the scrutiny of the SEC, and it must also be approved by stockholders.

While Macromedia/Adobe gives this process three to nine months, some industry analysts feel that is being overly optimistic.
But assuming that all is goes as planned, Macromedia will cease to exist. Everything will be in the Adobe name and with the Adobe interface.

Offshore Programmer Takes U.S. Company Website Hostage

Last week witnessed another case of offshore programmer taking a U.S. company Web site hostage and demanding ransom money. A U.S. company contracted with an offshore programmer to write a corporate Web site received a "final" email from the programmer on Friday who stated that he wanted more money and if not paid he will be disappearing for another two week vacation.

Sun's revenues for the third quarter were $2.625 billion, a decrease of 1.0
percent as compared with $2.651 billion for the third quarter of fiscal 2004. "Break even is a huge move forward from the loss we experienced a year
ago," said Scott McNealy, adding: "We've made over a $1BN improvement in Net Income on a year to date three quarter comparison."
