About the challenge
It’s that time again! Liquid Hacks, Team Liquid’s annual hackathon series, is back for its third year. Gamers and hackers are typically mortal enemies, but for this event they’ll come together to build something out of nothing, all with the ultimate goal of enriching the esports and gaming space in their own unique way.
The hackathon will be held digitally on Team Liquid’s Discord server. It begins at 12 PM Pacific Time on Tuesday, November 29th and ends at 5 PM Pacific Time on Tuesday, December 6th.
Tune in to the Team Liquid Twitch channel to watch the opening ceremony before hacking begins on November 29th!
Get started
You can enter Liquid Hacks 3.0 as an individual or as part of a team of up to 4 people. And no, you don’t have to have any programming experience to participate!
This year’s hackathon theme is A Wave Of One. Keeping in line with Team Liquid’s larger goal of unity, our four themes are:
-
Team Liquid
Team Liquid is all about being the best esports org in the world, and that means smoking the competition with new and innovative projects that keep the fans on the edge of their seats. We want to give them the opportunity to add their legacy to the Team Liquid name by creating software or hardware that shows their love for the org. -
Competitive Esports
Competition is the core of esports. Professional esports players are hungry for the next big win, and they’ll do whatever it takes to get it. Rally your team to build a project that could help aspiring esports pros to be at their best in their career - and stay that way. -
Social Good
Gaming is for everyone - and we really do mean everyone. The theme of social good is all about changing the accessibility of gaming, including outreach, culture, and helping the disadvantaged! -
Communication
The landscape of esports is ever-evolving, and needs tools to match. Building technology that makes gaming easier to master, find friends new or old, and show complex information in a digestible way will not only help the top performers, but also inspire a future generation to keep improving and expanding.
Once you've determined your team (or are ready to work solo!), it’s up to you to decide the direction of your project. Our only real requirement is that it relates to at least one of the above categories in some way. We’re looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
