His biography of Sugar Ray Robinson was shortlisted for the prestigious William Hill Sports Book of the Year Award, while his accounts of Thomas Hearns and Marvin Hagler became best-sellers. Marvelous Marvin Hagler became the UK’s best-selling sports biography in 2013.
Alongside his writing and speaking work, Damian works as a trusted advisor to leaders in elite sporting organisations including England Football, England Rugby League, Scotland Rugby Union and the England Roses netball team, helping instil the behaviours and mindset required for sustained success.

He was appointed Visiting Professor of Organisational Behaviour at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2010.
