⋓ Lital Khaikin is a journalist and author writing on dimensions of conflict including mining and environmental issues, human rights and social movements, and post-conflict transition. Her original reporting has been published in Canada and internationally. Over the past decade, while working in curation, cultural programming and communications in the arts, she also published essays on the artistic expressions of cultural memory, conflict and diasporic experiences in visual and performance arts.
Also a writer of fictions and poetry, she has written a novella called flight (Sublunary Editions, Seattle, 2024), and is working on two novellas dubbed nigredo and rubedo. A chapbook-length poem Outplace was published once upon a time in a limited run (Solar Luxuriance, San Francisco, 2017). Her literary work explores the liminal space of tension between political violence and relational intimacy.
Intermittently between 2015-2022, she was a contributing editor for the experimental publishing collective continent. Between 2017-2020, she ran a small artist press called The Green Violin through which she published leaflets, chapbooks and other free lit, including The Sparkplug broadside. She has also edited and produced the art publication [espace variable | placeholder] for La Centrale. ⋒

⋓ Lital Khaikin est une journaliste et auteur qui écrit sur les dimensions de conflit en incluant l’éxtractivisme qui interagisse des divisions, les droits humains et mouvements sociaux en régions affectées par conflit et transitions post-conflit. Leur travail a été publiée au Canada et dans les publications internationales. Depuis une décennie, en travaillant dans le milieu artistique, elle à aussi publié sur l’interprétation des souvenirs culturelles des conflits et expériences diasporiques dans les arts visuels et dramatiques.
Également autrice de fictions, elle a écrit une novella intitulée flight (2024, Sublunary Editions), et travaille sur ses prochaines novellas intitulées nigredo et rubedo. Un poème en forme de chapbook, Outplace, a été publié en tirage limité à San Francisco (2017, Solar Luxuriance). Son travail littéraire explore l’espace liminal de tension entre la violence politique et l’intimité relationnelle.
Par périodes intermittentes entre 2015 et 2022, elle a été rédactrice pour le collectif d’édition expérimentale continent. Entre 2017 et 2020, elle a dirigé une petite presse d’artiste appelée The Green Violin, grâce à laquelle elle a publié des dépliants, des livres de chapitres et d’autres publications gratuites, y compris The Sparkplug broadside.
