Hi group, the last time LJArchive synced for me was September 21. Here's the error message below. Hello to everyone who will read this here and which still lurk around on the platform! I stumbled over something in LJArchive and want to ask if anyone experiences the same. If using it for Livejournal (as it was originally intended), as of recently, it doesn't carry over the corresponding icons for an individual entry anymore. It just puts the default one in place for all of them. I can recognize it doing this because of my mirrored journal over at Dreamwidth where this behavior doesn't occur if I make an archive of it using the program LJArchive. As of recently, if using DWs importer for Livejournal, you also see it setting the default icon for every entry you import and not the specific one you selected for the entry - so my guessing is that this change in behavior of LJArchive has to do with some code change in Livejournal itself, affecting the icon selection or setting (which one it will be for an entry), which all the known automated programs don't carry over as this function, which now rules the icon setting, wasn't implemented in them. But, to be sure, I send the report of my perception into a round, just to see if somebody else pops up and experiences the same. So that I know it isn't a quirk of just my computer. |

Hello everyone - I was wondering if it's still possible to use LJArchive to back up entries on Dreamwidth? I used it successfully for this in 2012, but haven't used the app since then. If it works for you, or if you're able to get it to work, please let me know what you did (on which version)! :) Thank you~ |

Hi folks. I have the "updated" ljarchive where it fixes the error when it gets to downloading comments (which I had before) but now it just hangs at "Downloading Comments -- 1 of 5623..." |

I don't suppose there's any way for ljarchive to save the icons of comments? I'm incredibly grateful to have just the comments themselves saved, but I just wondered. |

I've been using ljArchive with no problems for ages, but while I was downloading some entries just now, my antivirus popped up with this message:![]() What the hell?? Has anyone else had this? I don't know if it's a false positive and I should just ignore it, or if the program has somehow become infected, or if it was a Trojan all along and Kaspersky has only just identified it as such. 8/ I really like ljArchive and don't want to lose it! (Especially if there's any truth to the rumours about LJ being in trouble - this is my only backup.) |

For some time now I've been unable to download comments to messages posted after 10/24/2012. When I try to sync the messages download, but the comments don't, and I get an error message saying that the server doesn't allow comments to be downloaded. The details are as follows: ljArchive Error: EF.ljArchive.Engine.ExpectedSyncExceptio at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() at EF.ljArchive.Engine.Sync.ExportCommentsB at EF.ljArchive.Engine.Sync.ThreadStart() --- End of inner exception stack trace --- I thought that this was a problem with Livejournal, but I'm told that the software is working for others. As far as I know I have the latest version, the one that was hacked after official development stopped. I've tried renaming the archive and starting again, but that just got me the same result - all messages downloaded, but comments stopped in 2012. Anyone know what's wrong? |

| LJArchive seems to have been crippled since the last LJ API update and there's no sign it's being maintained or that maintainers are even paying attention to this comm, right? I should consider it permanently dead? | ||||||

Hi! I just downloaded LJ Archive after I started getting the cold sweats about losing my old journal entries. I haven't tried to do this for a few years, so I really like the look of the new program! My only concern is that I get the following sync error, which stops me from downloading anything. It looks like I could successfully download when I deselected "comments," so I guess it's a comment problem, but I'd like to download comments if I can. Any help? ljArchive Error: System.Xml.XmlException: Name cannot begin with the '1' character, hexadecimal value 0x31. Can someone recommend the latest version of the LJ Archive - and a link to download? My Norton indicated that my program was infected and recommended that I remove it. Thanks for your help. --Mark |

I'm consistently getting a "The server is not responding. Please try again later." error message when I try to sync. ( Collapse ) Tried re-installing, but it didn't help. Anyone? ETA: 1. I'm using the version from http://www.memory-prime.de/lja/ljarchive_setup.zip 2. It actually stopped syncing on April 1 (suspicious date!), but I kept thinking it would come right, so I didn't do anything about it till now. |

Judging from the timing of this error message, it's happening while trying to import comments, but I haven't dug into the code on Sourceforge.
( Collapse ) Is there a good work-around for this? Edit: put code behind lj-cut. |

Hi, I mostly use InsaneJournal these days, but they moved servers a few weeks ago and ever since then I've found that LJArchive isn't able to connect to IJ to back up my journal. I've tried creating a new archive file but it still doesn't work. Am I being really stupid, or is there a way around this? I'm using version 0.9.7 which seems to be the latest version. This is the error message that comes up when I open LJArchive: CookComputing.XmlRpc.XmlRpcFaultExceptio at CookComputing.XmlRpc.XmlRpcSerializer.De at CookComputing.XmlRpc.XmlRpcSerializer.De at CookComputing.XmlRpc.XmlRpcClientProtoco at CookComputing.XmlRpc.XmlRpcClientProtoco at CookComputing.XmlRpc.XmlRpcClientProtoco at XmlRpcProxy908c1190-4d24-48e0-9f84-b8c56 at EF.ljArchive.Engine.Sync.Login(OptionsRo at EF.ljArchive.Engine.Sync.ThreadStart() Thanks in advance for any suggestions! |
