The kids went back to school today, I know parents everywhere are rejoicing. I was talking with a friend recently, a mom of younger kids, and discussing how things shift as your kids get older. I’m at that weird and wonderful parenting phase where school starting is no longer a massive relief. When my kids were younger I really really craved a routine. But now at 16 and 14 they’re more like mini adults who are fairly easy and fun to hang out with. I mean, I’m still very much in a parenting role (and in many cases I think it’s even more important to be present now than when they were younger), but I don’t need the break like I did when they were younger. Does that make sense?

Anyway, cheers to all of you out there breathing the sigh of relief. I’ve been there.

Let’s dive into some new things. Like my new casual jacket I just got that makes me feel 15 years younger when I wear it. Paired with a sweater I got maybe 4-5 weeks ago that I’ve already worn 4 times b/c it’s that good.

Here are some more new arrivals on my radar!

This blue printed dress is absolutely adorable and is from Tuckernuck’s brand. It feels like something you’d find on Moda Operandi. Donni silk track pants have been restocked. So cute with sweater now and with tees this spring. I shared this blue stripe shirtdress on my stories and it was super popolar. It’s adorable.

I ordered this jacquard jacket top so fast! It’s another piece that looks like it could be $2000 but is under $200. I’ll wear it as both a top, and open as a jacket.

Happy Tuesday :)

We are home after an incredible trip to Coral House on Harbour Island for Christmas and New Years. I think this was one of my most favorite trips yet. I love going there for the holidays because we have so many island friends who are there at the same time.

Here’s what I wore:

This polka dot set was probably my favorite outfit of the trip. I wore this to a beach sunset party at a friend’s home and then to a cocktail party at our neighbor’s house.

Left on Friday makes some of my most favorite bikinis b/c they have SO many mix and match styles. Tons of colors, tons of different fits and silhouettes so you can really find the right one for you. And their fabric is really supportive and nice!

I wore this crochet dress for our Christmas dinner at Coral Sands and got so many compliments on it. It has an optional little slip with it.

I bought this cigar gemstone ring at The Dunmore Shop this trip and wore it nearly every night. It looks SO much more expensive that it was! I wore this outfit to a jewelry pop up at Coral Sands followed by dinner at The Rockhouse.

I wore this soft and breezy dress to breakfast at The Landing (best on the island). I love the little side ties to cinch (or not) your waist.

I adore this floral one piece from Hill House, it has a really nice supportive fit and isn’t too cheeky!!

This floral dress was probably my second favorite outfit of the trip. I wore it Christmas Eve to our friend’s annual Christmas Carols party. I will say I think it runs a touch small.

This polka dot dress was my New Year’s Eve dress and felt both festive for New Year’s and also islandy friendly! Our New Year’s was really a progressive events sort of night so we could spend time with a few friends! But I’ll be honest NYE and the pressure of it all kinda makes it my least favorite night.

I am obsessed with this striped pants. They have a hidden flat elastic waistband and are just even cuter in person! I wore this on Boxing Day to dinner at Da Vine and junkanoo!

This dress is SO FUN to wear and she fits like a glove, I love the colors. I wore it to a big fundraiser party at The Rockhouse.

And one more time for this outfit b/c it’s my fave. This set comes in so many prints so I’m thinking I need to collect a couple more! I even wore this for some professional headshots with a local photographer and am hoping something turns up perfect for my author photo!

It was a phenominal trip and if I had to call out some MVPs of my wardrobe they’d be:

(This was actually posted Dec 17th but didn’t push live here, sorry about that!)

We’re heading to Coral House on Sunday for Christmas and New Year’s and I’m quite ready for the break! The past month has been quite busy, and I’m sure you all feel the exact same way.

We could all use a break and half the fun is planning for it. There are so many cute resort arrivals right now!

My TBR feels a tad long right now so I’m not sure if I’ll get to Guided over break, but I’ll definitely dive in in January! I did buy these pearly button heels and am so excited about them. That Agua one piece suit is gorgeous.

Here are a few of the things coming with me this weekend to Harbour Island. I’ll be ready for a break, the past month has been quite busy, as I’m sure you all feel the same way!

Image

This crochet dress (XS). I’m obsessed with the colors and the fit!

Image

This blue floral swimsuit XS. I’d describe this as a sexy mom swimsuit. Not too showy but also has some nice cuts to it! All sizes are available here on Shopbop. Matching skirt here.

Image

This green and cream crochet dress is also coming. I have the XXS b/c I heard it runs large and it fits perfectly!

Image

This crinkle dress is coming with me too, it’s so fun. I have the XS and it is a tad small in the armpits just fyi.

Image

I make everything fit in my Away carry on suitcase and wanted to let you know they’re having a bundle and save sale right now! They make such great and practival gifts for under the tree and they’re doing free expedited shipping.

Happy Saturday Friends. Let’s dive in…

Image

What I’m Wearing & Buying This Week:

I wore this outfit last night for holiday drinks with friends plus a little cheers to Josh’s birthday! This metallic fringe top is one of my favorite festive easy things in my closet, runs very fitted fyi. The coat is old and these pumps are go-tos for me!

Also wearing both this long necklace (that’s cute doubled up) and this lunar necklace a lot. Two faves!

I’ve been living in this new brown wool cocoon coat that I just got and it’s like my favorite thing in my closet right now. It’s so beautiful and so well made and cozy.

I recently wore this striped cashmere sweater that I got last winter and went to link it and happily found it on Amazon for a quarter of the original price. It’s a GOOD one!

I also just got these boots and they’re arriving Tuesday I think. I needed a good legit brown.

I just loaded up on Boden’s sweaters bc they’re so colorful and gorgeous right now. I mean, they’re absolutly killing it. I got this onethis one, and this one.

What I’m Reading Watching Listening To:

When I got home last night, not too late, I watched both of the first episodes of the new Eras Tour Documentary and it didn’t disappoint. I cried a few times, it goes pretty deep on some highly emotional behind the scenes moments. What a gift.

I just DNF’d a book at 86%. What is wrong with me. I knew I should have done it sooner but I just couldn’t put any more time into it. It was just too cheesy and the spice wasn’t my style at all and it honestly was way way too long. So I started The Heir Apparent last night and it is off to a STELLAR start I’m so happy.

Image

What I’m Looking Forward To:

Currently counting down the days til we leave for Harbour Island for Christmas and New Years.

I just got this long dress to bring with me. And I got this swimsuit, too! It has a really nice hold you in, not too showy silhouette. I also got these new sandals the heel isn’t too high!

Okay I may have splurged on this dress too. It just delivered today and it fits like a glove I am OBSESSED.

Image

A New To Me Brand:

This is that new dress I mentioned I’m bringing to Harbour Island. It’s by ESCVDO. They have a lot of cute pieces that I’ve seen on Shopbop before but had never tried anything. I’m VERY impressed by the quality and fit.

Image

What I’d Buy Right Now If I Were Treating Myself:

I tried on my friend Grace Atwood’s new Dorsey ring at lunch yesterday and was truly flabbergasted at how gorgeous it is. It’s incredible you guys, lab grown is really the way.

Image

Wearing this sweatshirt, these sunglasses, this beaded necklaceAdina charms

Under $100 Wins:

This no make up make up has become my daily go to (pictured above). I got it thinking I’d wear it occassionally but oh no – it works SO well and covers everything up in like 12 seconds. It’s amazing.

This Lola style blanket for way less on amazon is a great gift idea for yourself or really anyone on your list. It’s only $69.

This cute cable knit sweater is only $35!

This cluster diamond like necklace is only $70, she’s a beauty!

And I love that periwinkle blue fuzzy sweater, too.

This year marks Fletch’s Holiday Gift Guide Debut! This is his first ever curated gift guide, and I’d say he did a great job! He’s 14 and in 8th grade, for refence for these ideas. These are all 100% chosen by him, the commentary will be done by me :) Let’s go!

Image

Lululemon Underwear – This tracks, these are the ONLY underwear Fletch has worn for the last I’d say 4 years. He loves them.

Ugg’s Slipper Shoes – Another winner, just got these for him! I know he plans to wear them to wintertime lacrosse tournaments (before he changes obvs).

Old Navy Quarter Zip – It is THE year of the QZ in case you didn’t know. Fletch has this one, most all colors are sold out at this point, but it’s quality and looks nice.

Lego Bugatti Car Kit – Fletch took his payment for making this gift guide via lego kits, this was one of them!

JBL Speaker – Waterproof with a 7 hour battery – 20% off right now.

Nike Socks – Another huge fave, these are the only socks Fletch has worn for years.

Therabody Massager – We have one of these and it basically lives upstairs. Great product and 31% off right now.

Maze Runner Series – I love to see books make the list, and a whole series no less!

Ralph Lauren Quarter Zip – Fletch and I went shopping last weekend and he picked this out and I got it for him, so I have to say how happy I am to see it make the list. I must say that it is a gorgeous pullover.

Millennium Falcon Lego Kit – Fletch has this one, too!

Airpods Pro 3 – All the kids want these. They fit nicely with the new ear piece, have heart rate sensing so you can track your heart rate and calories, and go up to 8 hours.

Push Button Water Bottle – I guess they do always need fresh water bottles…. And this one is 40% off!

Sandlewood Candle – Boys want to just chill and vibe, too.

Calvin Klein Cologne Set – Yes, we have definitely entered the cologne era.

Amazon Essentials Black Quarter Zip – Love seeing this budget find on here, these are $20 each and come in a lot of colors! Again, it’s the year of the QZ!

If you missed it – here’s Lilly’s Holiday Gift Guide For Teens!
