Me, Jacque, and the kids went to the pool, but again, the weather was not cooperating. We spent less than an hour in the water before the regular break, which was followed by an additional break due to an 'unidentified floating object in the water'. We decided to cut our losses and get out of there.

We were supposed to spend the day in Park City, but the weather wouldn't cooperate with us. So we headed south to a place called Jump on it! We had a group of at least 30. What a way to kill some time. We were only there like an hour or so, but we were able to burn some energy. When it was time to leave, Mason kept disappearing. I finally found him in the 'big kid' jumping area. Afterwards, Caden and Kylee headed off with the rest of the group to go to Boondocks. There they drove bumpercars, spray boats, play mini golf, and unlimited arcade games. They didn't get home til almost midnight. What fun.

A blog-worthy deal!!!

This was by far the most I have ever saved at one time. I am definitely a coupon shopper, but with school starting, the sales are all over the place. While in Smith's to buy ice cream a couple of days ago, I noticed the occasional Mix 'n' Match 10 Participating Item deals. Cereal is by far the first item to run out in our house. With 3 kids eating cereal, we go through 1 to 1-1/2 of the smaller sized boxes of cereal per week. I went through all of my coupons, printed some from the various emails I had received, and picked through my Smith's Values mailer. So here's what I managed to get and what I saved:
16 boxes of General Mills cereals
10 pouches Betty Crocker cookie mixes
10 cans Progresso soups
6 loaves of Home Pride wheat bread
4 packages Jenni-O ground turkey
4 boxes Betty Crocker fruit roll ups
2 packages Dannon Yogurt drinks
3 gallons Mountain Dairy milk
2 boxes Capri Sun juice drinks
3 Lady Speed Stick deodorants
1 box Zebra Cakes (for Bret)
1 head Iceberg lettuce
1 package celery
1 bag Lays chips variety pack
2 Vine Ripe tomatoes
Total (before discounts): $184.18
Coupons: $12.35
Fresh Values : $101.52
Grand Total: $70.31
not to mention my $0.15 fuel reward I earned

As much shopping as I do, I have never left with such a good feeling. It probably sounds dumb but I feel it will be like it will be a much bigger savings with all the breakfasts and lunches we get out of it.

So this picture was taken at Layton Hills Park in Utah last summer during our annual week-long trips. It was the only one with at least 3/4 of the kids looking at the camera. We had this Alder grandkid pic enlarged and framed for both my parents along with a Alder kid pic of me and my siblings this last Christmas.. That day the kids were more interesting in feeding the ducks than posing for pictures, but nevertheless we got our shot.
