Hannah was a 25-year-old aerialist and dance instructor when she dove into new motherhood. Once her baby was born, she focused on breastfeeding and putting all her energy into being a new mom. However, once she got the hang of things, she realized she didn’t feel as strong or capable as she once had and decided she wanted to get serious about taking care of herself, losing body fat, and regaining her strength.
“I did occasional weight training as cross-training,” she said. “But I didn’t take it seriously until after I had a baby and decided I wanted to get both my strength and confidence back in a sustainable way. I’ve fallen in love with weight training during my journey, and I’ve discovered a real passion for it — to the point that I’m planning on going back to school for exercise science.”

Why MacroFactor?
Hannah had lost about 20 pounds just from being a new mom and breastfeeding, but she wanted to do more and prioritized it being in a sustainable way.
“I decided to try MacroFactor after I finished breastfeeding because I wanted to approach weight loss in the healthiest and most sustainable way,” she said. “I had no idea how my metabolism and daily expenditure had changed during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so I didn’t know how many calories or what amount of macros I needed to hit the rate of weight loss I wanted.”
“I knew weight loss is a science,” she added. “I had no idea where to begin to figure out my personal dietary needs. That’s why I trusted MacroFactor’s algorithm and weekly check-ins to give me the tools I needed to succeed.”
Hannah’s goals and approach
When Hannah began MacroFactor, she set out to follow a 12-week cut, aiming to lose approximately one pound of fat per week while focusing on body recomposition.
“I wanted to use the app to help me get the rest of the way to my goal of 135,” she said, “and once it was done, I felt so confident in my ability to reach a goal and succeed.”
Hannah chose the coached program with a balanced macro split and higher protein to fit her lifestyle.
“I really just let the app and the algorithm do the work for me, so it’s not even something I have to think about.”
“I knew after that first cut that I could continue to set goals for myself and follow through,” she continued. “Completing the 12-week cut made me feel really proud of my discipline and hard work. I feel better about myself now than I did prior to pregnancy!”

Hannah’s favorite features
For Hannah, the feature that earned the most praise was the weight trend.
“My favorite MacroFactor feature is the trend weight because it completely eliminates the stress of stepping on the scale and seeing the numbers fluctuate,” she said. “I know that as long as I weigh myself consistently and log my food accurately, the app and the algorithm will do the work and adjust my calories and macros if it’s needed.”
Overall, Hannah appreciated the app’s calm and judgment-free nature. The lessons it taught didn’t just help her through the technical process of losing fat. They also improved her relationship with her weight in general.
“If your weight fluctuates or you go over your calorie or macro targets for the day, there’s nothing in the app that makes you feel bad or like you’ve done something wrong,” she said. “MacroFactor lets you see both weight and food as neutral data. It’s completely changed my relationship with the scale and with what I eat. I no longer have anxiety stepping on the scale, and I no longer see foods as good or bad. I know my weight is just data, and I can log whatever I eat with zero judgment.”
Biggest wins and takeaways

The key lesson Hannah kept coming back to was leaning into the system.
“My biggest advice is to not stress about what the app is telling you,” she said. “Let it take the guesswork out of your nutrition so you can focus solely on the execution.”
With the app doing the heavy lifting, Hannah was able to focus her time and energy on putting in the work at the gym and on the other areas of her life that she wanted to give more attention to.
“Going to the gym and meal planning is already hard enough, so just let MacroFactor take the guesswork out of it,” she said. “Logging your meals will eventually just become a habit and not something you even have to think about.”
“I don’t have to guess what my expenditure is or how much I should be eating based on a random calculator online that doesn’t account for personal variability,” she added. “Whether I become more or less active because of illness, vacation, or picking up a new hobby, I know the app will continue to adjust with me so I can both reach and maintain the goals I’ve set.”
Hannah is currently working towards new goals and looking ahead to her next challenge.
“I’m very happy with where my physique is overall right now and really proud of the work I’ve put in,” she said. “For now, I’m just maintaining my results and giving my body time to recuperate after coming out of a weight loss phase. But I have some big goals for the future, including doing a bodybuilding competition for the first time and going through bulking and cutting cycles to keep dialing in my physique.”
