Version 2.9.3 Release Notes

Bidirectional Integrations

  • MacroFactor can now import Calories, macros and micronutrients for the day from Apple Health and Health Connect. For users who BYOFL (bring your own food logger), you can now use your on-device platform for managing your nutrition data while taking advantage of MacroFactor’s coaching.
  • Weight data can now be imported into and exported from your respective health platform. That means you can track your weight in MacroFactor and have your weight record in Apple Health and Health Connect as well.
  • This release is designed to enable data portability with secure on-device health data platforms and sets the stage for evolving our integration story to include more data types in the near future.

Deprecation Notice

We previously used the Fitbit integration as a stop-gap measure for enabling users to import Nutrition data into MacroFactor. With full platform support now available via Apple Health and Health Connect, we are deprecating the Fitbit integration. We are not removing the Fitbit integration from MacroFactor quite yet, but we recommend syncing your Fitbit with Health Connect and using the Health Connect integration with MacroFactor. This is the workflow that the platforms intend, and it ensures your data is fully portable.

Community Note: The release will gradually roll out to Android and iOS devices. It will take 1-7 days for the update to make it to everyone. After 1 day, any iOS user should be able to manually initiate the update from the App Store.
