I bought four ebooks last night. Only one of them was worth anything, but it reminded me of a book by the same authors that I read ages ago and I wound up rereading it and liking it as much the second time as I had the first. So, I rec (and I may have recced the second one before, I don’t remember).

The authors are Jennifer Urban & Elizabeth Silver.

This one I like because it could have dragged one forever and gotten tedious, or they could have gone on and on and on with the misunderstandings, but it never really got that bad. Jay is a little bit emo, but understandable and not unbearably.

My only minor minor beef is that the mild BDSM touches seemed completely unnecessary. It’s only in passing, really, so even someone who does not like that sort of thing will have no problems with this book. And the ‘vanilla outreach’ crack made me lawl. But the whole thing seemed irrelevant.

But, the chars were likable, the threesome believable, and who does not like a classic trapped in the mountains we must conserve heat! fic :3

My favorite part of this one was that the guy who issued the bet was not a jerk. I cannot tell you how many of these bet-type stories have a major fucking asshole for one of the MC’s. I also like that while the one guy is sort zomgI’mgay! I’m not driven absolutely crazy with it. They’re good guys, they’re not perfect, and they’re a lot of fun. I can honestly say I don’t read most of the ebooks I buy twice, and I’ve read this one 2.5 times (I skimmed my favorite bits at lunch today :3).

I know that people mean absolutely no harm when they say that LT3 belongs to me, that it's my idea, my website, etc. But it sort of upsets me, anyway. Because it's not mine. To be perfectly honest it wasn't even my idea. Less Than Three Press is a three-man team. My partners are my sister Samantha Derr (rykaine) and my roommate Sasha Miller (nikerymis). We also get a lot of help from drowning_london.

LT3 was Samantha's idea. I never would have had the brass, I was happy selling my own little efforts via lulu and amazon. Samantha came up with the idea, I just helped her carry it out. Then Sasha offered to do our webwork, since Sam and I are useless in that department, and she became our third partner. Sasha is our webmaster, Samantha is Editor-in-Chief and CFO, and those comprise three of the hardest damn parts of running a business, imho.

I was just the name to give us a starting point. We are a real, registered, professional press, for all that we're still new babyfaces on the scene. LT3 is not my little website, my little project. I don't post my own stories and then let in guest authors. It is our business. We hope soon to quit our day jobs and do LT3 full time. We want more writers, more stories, to be a bigger name on the scene. That is our goal. We take our business very seriously; it's not some little past time or game.

Again, I no one means anything by saying LT3 is mine, but it does a serious discredit to Samantha and Sasha. I might be the name everyone knows but they are the backbone. I would appreciate it, greatly, if people would get their information correct when they speak of LT3. We are a professional small press, and it is owned and operated by the three of us.

Oh, yeah. I need to stop writing Sunday Snuggles. My latest one is trying to demand a 'how they met' story. I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR THIS YOU FUCKNG STORY AND IF I GET OFF TRACK ANYMORE THAN I ALREADY AM MY EDITOR WILL DESTROY ME AND HAVE MY SOUL FOR BREAKFAST.

Did not miss work. Blah.

Now must get a beer, and then finally do work. Good grief, where does the friggin' time go?

First off, Less Than Three Press is going to be at Wincon this year. We’ll be selling some of our print books, including The Bastard Prince, The Missing Butterfly, Embrace, Magic & Mischief, Midsummer Days, and Living Words (by Sasha L. Miller).

The editor in Chief will be arriving Thursday, the rest of us late Thursday night ^__^ We’ll probably nearly always be in the consuite, if you would like to drop by and see us (and buy a book or two :3).

In other news, I’ve been writing random fairytales here and there the last couple of weeks. I’ve not yet transferred them to my webpage, but you can find them on my LJ. I also have written a little short story, and a few Midsummer Baker drabbles.
