FRIENDS ONLY
Jan. 1st, 2020 08:07 pmA few notes for newcomers, if you do not mind taking the time read them. Thanks ^_^
( Read more... )

I bought four ebooks last night. Only one of them was worth anything, but it reminded me of a book by the same authors that I read ages ago and I wound up rereading it and liking it as much the second time as I had the first. So, I rec (and I may have recced the second one before, I don’t remember).
The authors are Jennifer Urban & Elizabeth Silver.
The books are:
Where the Heart Is
ISBN: 978-1-60737-894-5
Genre: LGBT Multicultural Menage
Length: NovellaJason, Steve, and Chris have seen each other through the toughest times of their lives, but when they’re snowed in together on their annual Thanksgiving ski trip, they learn that you can still have secrets even after twenty years. After Steve reveals he’s on the verge of a major decision that could break them apart, those secrets — their desires — might be the only thing that could save them.
Then a blizzard hits and snows them in, and there’s nowhere to run from the feelings they’ve been ignoring for years. None of them want to choose one and risk the other, but before the week is out, they’re going to have to find a way to make the three of them work again. If not, they’re going to lose each other after all.
This one I like because it could have dragged one forever and gotten tedious, or they could have gone on and on and on with the misunderstandings, but it never really got that bad. Jay is a little bit emo, but understandable and not unbearably.
My only minor minor beef is that the mild BDSM touches seemed completely unnecessary. It’s only in passing, really, so even someone who does not like that sort of thing will have no problems with this book. And the ‘vanilla outreach’ crack made me lawl. But the whole thing seemed irrelevant.
But, the chars were likable, the threesome believable, and who does not like a classic trapped in the mountains we must conserve heat! fic :3
Winner Takes All
ISBN: 978-1-60737-568-5
Genre: LGBT Erotic Contemporary
Length: NovelDominic Taylor and Matt Harris have been friendly rivals – with occasional benefits – for a few years. With the downturn in the economy, though, Matt’s business is struggling. Dom, whose company is doing well, offers Matt a bet that could help save Matt’s company. But the terms of the bet would literally put Matt’s ass on the line and change the dynamic of their friendship.
As the deadline approaches, they graduate from making out to making love, raising the stakes as they each come to terms with what they really want, and what really matters.
No matter who wins, there will be no going back for either one of them. Because the winner takes all.
My favorite part of this one was that the guy who issued the bet was not a jerk. I cannot tell you how many of these bet-type stories have a major fucking asshole for one of the MC’s. I also like that while the one guy is sort zomgI’mgay! I’m not driven absolutely crazy with it. They’re good guys, they’re not perfect, and they’re a lot of fun. I can honestly say I don’t read most of the ebooks I buy twice, and I’ve read this one 2.5 times (I skimmed my favorite bits at lunch today :3).
I hope others enjoy! ^_^

Added two ficbits to the site, one stand alone, written for ttkove cause she’s awesome, and one Kria verse femslash piece.
I have also become obsessed with the Green Hornet movie because it’s fucking awesome, and wrote three fanfics for it so far, and I’ve a fourth half-written :3
And speaking of fanfic, I added Alison Bailey’s two stories to the Geniuses website.
Think that’s all for now :3

My book Midnight was recently released through LT3:
and it was given an awesome review by the Book Wenches!
Am currently collecting prompts from the Queensland Flood Auction I participated in. It’s a very interesting mix! After the stories are received by their respective winners, I will post them all here ^___^
LT3 has seen some improvements! The front page has changed slightly, and we now have a coming soon page! If you have not already looked, totally scope it out!
Lastly, I added my latest Sunday Snuggles to the ficbits section, a very silly little short about a knight and a priest :3 and an even sillier Cinderella knockoff :3

First off, Less Than Three Press is going to be at Wincon this year. We’ll be selling some of our print books, including The Bastard Prince, The Missing Butterfly, Embrace, Magic & Mischief, Midsummer Days, and Living Words (by Sasha L. Miller).
The editor in Chief will be arriving Thursday, the rest of us late Thursday night ^__^ We’ll probably nearly always be in the consuite, if you would like to drop by and see us (and buy a book or two :3).
In other news, I’ve been writing random fairytales here and there the last couple of weeks. I’ve not yet transferred them to my webpage, but you can find them on my LJ. I also have written a little short story, and a few Midsummer Baker drabbles.
When I get back from Wincon, I’ll transfer them properly to my LJ. Until then, they’re pretty easy to find:
