Back In the Saddle Again...
This didn't quite turn out to be a January 1st occurrence, but I AM still in the month of January, right? I have missed this blog, and as evidenced from the photograph I have a new writing desk. I mean to take full advantage of it. I have visions of my ability to write comprehensibly being snatched away. I feel my mortality with each passing year, yet I feel more alive with each passing day! And by sugar, I still have things to say! My stellar children acuse me of too many !!!'s, but I say, "Be gone with you naysayers! The world needs More !!!'s!
The sun hit my vintage resin grapes with such profundity the other day that I ran for my phone to capture the moment. I could do a whole post on these grapes. Perhaps tomorrow.
It is 25 degrees here today in Ruffton, North Cackelacky, but I am going to heat up my sewing room with the space heater and do some sewing. Perhaps I wil send this out into the universe and revisit it this afternoon to see if it landed anywhere.

ZuZu

ZuZu and I were seatmates on a flight from Rome to Rabat several months ago. We became chummy quite quickly, and so of course we exchanged pleasantries and eventually contact information. He promised to contact us when he returned from his home in Tunisia to his family establishment south of Rabat. Imagine our delight when he made good on that! We LOVED our time in his home!!
Delectable pastries along with traditional chicken tajine.
And the cutest most pleasant baby on the whole continent!!!!!
To watch EVERYONE in this entire family dote on this baby was pure wonderful.

Fez- Kayleen and Nan
Fez is a beautiful train ride and day trip from us. We met a tour agent on the train who hooked us up for the day.

The guide took us way up above the city to this stunning cemetery.

The entry gate was duplicated at the Moroccan exhibit in Epcot.

I must have been a Bedouin desert nomad in another life because these rugs speak to me on a deep level. This one probably costs about what a car does.

The world famous Fez tannery

Depicted here in tile art
Paper thin crepes cooked on a hot "head"
Preserved meat in an animal fat

All of Morocco's best tiles originate in Fez.
