I've been experimenting with genealogy vidding I don't know how much others vid outside of fandom, but I've always done some. I have a set of Fine Art videos done to music that I wish I had been able to do in college when I was studying Art History.
But as a genealogy nut, I've recently tried making vids of my ancestry. My brother's children aren't much into reading, so this was an attempt to pass information in a less painful form for them. A failure, I fear, but it was still fun for me. Wondered if anyone else has been experimenting.
"Put Your Head on my Shoulder" is a Chinese romantic comedy, as well as a song by Paul Anka. A young man who studies physics falls for a young ad student. Pursuing her should be easy since their parents have pushed them into sharing an apartment, hoping to eventually unite the families. But, besides being an innocent college senior, the young man has the disadvantage of being tutored in romantic relationships by his physics professor, who agrees that comparing her to Schroedinger's cat is the perfect way to get the girl to fall.
The young ad student, Situ Mo, only met the physics student when her almost boyfriend from high school began using his college roommate to take care of Mo Mo when he preferred to do his own thing - usually basketball. Though Fu Pei had originally asked Mo Mo to date him in college, his weak personality backed out once one of his fans started crying. So their relationship continued ambiguously up to the time Mo Mo moved into Gu Weiyi's parents' apartment. And it ended with a crash when Fu Pei got drunk and imagined that Mo Mo's dorm roommate was Mo Mo and tried to kiss her. Total disaster and the Mo Mo ended the ambiguity for good. "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim" is one of the most popular Korean romantic comedies about how the terrors resulting from his childhood kidnapping have stayed with the Vice Chairman, as have his feelings toward the little girl who shared one day of his ordeal. When he finds her again, as an adult who has forgotten their shared trauma, he brings her into the company as his secretary and grows dependent on her care of him. When she decides she's worked enough to take care of other people and is ready to quit to take care of herself, the Vice Chairman realizes exactly HOW dependent he's become on his secretary. Dependent enough to allow her to marry him. What he never expected was rejection of his offer. The problem worsens when his much-hated brother enters the picture. It's a charming drama with handsome and beautiful leads and the much appreciated, obligatory male shower scene.
S.C.I. Mystery Cases is a cop show out of Hong Kong. The two leads are Chief of SCI, Bai Yutong, and criminal psychologist, Dr. Zhan Yao. Chief Bai Yutong's sister, Bai Quintang, has just returned to police headquarters from the states, accompanied, as always, by twin monks. She is introduced to the medical examiner and immediately becomes obsessed with him. But her extreme personality comes from childhood trauma, when she was kidnapped and then shot, as the child of a VERY rich family.
SCI Mystery Cases is a cop show out of Hong Kong. The cases in the first season tie together the relationship of the fathers of the lead characters and the crazy psychologist they imprisoned for twenty years. This video shows the relationship between a magician, the nephew of the crazy psychologist, and his boyhood "friend" and genius novice policeman, the cousin of Chief Bai Yutong.
Bullied by the magician as a child, the bullying continues when they meet again when the magician claims to have stolen the boy's underwear during a magic show. Then the magician pickpockets the boy's housekeys, reads his diary and gets his comeuppance when the boy locks him in.

Korean military drama (16 episodes) of the relationship and conflicts between a Special Forces Captain and a medical doctor. Even though as an emergency physician, the doctor has to put her medicine above her relationships, she doesn't want a relationship with a Special Forces soldier that she can't rely will always be there for her. Song Joong Ki was married for several years to his co-star in this movie, Song Hye Kyo.
Descendants of the Sun - I Will Think of You - Laura Browne Sorenson Descendants of the Sun - I Will Think of You - Laura Browne Sorenson Korean military drama of the relationship between a Special Forces Captain and a medical doctor. The stars of this drama were actually married in real life for several years.

A childhood friend from a connected Triad family thinks he's taken out the current leader's father, as well as the father's blood brother. The return of the father, even with amnesia, almost triggers a gang war. This video shows off the relationship between the adopted Triad leader and his father.
Bromance is a Taiwanese drama about a girl whose parents have forced her to live as a boy until her 26th birthday. 100 days before that, she meets the boy she saved in childhood, and saves him again. He's now the leader of one of 3 Triad families. The two become blood brothers and their closeness grows into attraction. Unusual for this type of drama is that the girl willingly lives the life her parents have determined for her. As is common, the romantic lead is at first nervous about the attraction. What's not common is that the lead makes a choice to go for the relationship, not the simplest decision for a Triad leader. Also surprising is that when he discovers "he" is a "she", he doesn't let her secret out, even to her, but comes completely out in a same sex relationship. Truly a wonderful drama.

Must admit that my favorite scene is where the ex-boyfriend discovers that the girl sleeps with the cat (not knowing it’s not JUST a cat). He suggests this might be a good time to take the cat in for neutering. In the music video scene, the ex is in the red sweater, the cat in his normal white. Great expressions!
