Dreamwidth has gone into open Beta today, which is pretty cool. I've had an account for a few weeks now so all is good. I've even created my very own Top Gear community..
This means that I have invite codes if anyone would like one.. Some are reserved, some are not. Mostly, it's first come, first serve.
In other news, I actually got some work done today because most people were off-site.. and my fridge is no longer broken.

Spent all day sitting through Maths..
Which is not necessarily a bad thing. It does mean that I may actually pass the subject, which is something I was beginning to doubt. It does not mean I have to enjoy it.
So I will sit here in my cell room, watch Top Gear and pretend to practice Integral Calculus.
If only the shop weren't out of Tim Tam's.

If you were stranded on an island, what five books would you bring?
submitted by CJP
Well, I'd prefer to take 5 books I hadn't read yet. That would certainly help pass the time! But if it's my 5 most re-readable books, then these would be it. - The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
- Dirk Gently's Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul
- One of the Georgette Heyer novels.. don't ask me which one. I usually pick them at random.
- Harry Potter (ok,ok they're addctive)
- The Eyre Affair.

Have you ever volunteered for something? If so, what?
I volunteer quite a bit actually! Not as much as I's like - I have to earn a living too! My major effort is as a Joey Scout leader. In other words I entertain 7 year olds for 1 hour a week and get them interested in Scouting. I also get an excellent excuse to do fun science experiments and craft activities... I suppose the most interesting thing I volunteered for was the Sydney Olympics in 2000. The volunteer applications closed about a year before the games and you could nominate what areas you wanted to work in. I nominated as a help desk operator as I'd had experience in that area. Unfortunately, I never made it to the Olympics - not even as a spectator. My son was born less than 2 weeks before they started and I had my hands full!! Maybe next time they are in Australia?

What’s a simple thing you could do to save money, but are unwilling (or unable)
to put to practice? Sponsored by Microsoft Small Business.
I was going to post a serious answer to this, but then I saw that it was a sponsored question. So I will give you a way to save money instead, and most would be willing, Don't give money to Micro$oft in exchange for dodgy software. Simple really.

How could I resist and offer like that? I even have a special icon for the occasion. For this special occasio, you can have 2 quotes.
Technology is a word that describes something that doesn't work yet.
(JavaOne keynote, 1999)
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.
