About the challenge
The NJIT IEEE Student Branch is proud to present the annual MakeNJIT Hardware Hackathon, taking place on April 12-13, 2025. As a student-led organization committed to advancing technology and promoting innovation in the engineering community, we are thrilled to host this exciting event that will challenge participants to showcase their skills in hardware development and software.
Get started
Participants will be tasked with incorporating electrical components and software to create projects with a focus on accessibility and sustainability. The projects will then be evaluated by a panel of industry experts who will assess their technical merit, originality, and overall impact.
Requirements
What to Build
Build a hardware project that solves an issue along the realms of Smart Home Technology or Security Systems.
What to Submit
Submit a description of project. You should include:
- Inspiration
- What it does
- How you built it
- Challenges you ran into
- Accomplishments you are proud of
- What you learned
- Next steps for the project
Additionally, a video displaying a demo of the prototype should be included along with the post. This should accompany and exactly display what was discussed in the description. If there is any kind of deviation without explanation, it may result in deductions of points.
Semifinalist will need to create a 5 slide presentation to for final ceremony. Slide template is available in the MakeNJIT Gitbook
