Jude expected to see immediate and major changes when the Schism broke. They're reshaping the entire world, in a way - there's no way things won't change. What he wasn't expecting was for the brilliant light of the mana escaping and spreading across the world to suddenly vanish.
Now he stands frozen in the darkness so complete it seems like someone just extinguished the sun. It's one long, silent moment before he realizes that something else has vanished as well. The pressure of Milla's fingers entwined through his own is gone. He knew they would have to separate, but for it to be so suddenly... Was this the result of the Temporal Crossroads collapsing? His heart starts to hammer as he reaches out a hand, tentatively calling Milla's name -
and that slight movement sends him off balance, stumbling forward into the nothingness that apparently is stretching right in front of him. There's the clatter of stone against stone as he slips over the brink of some invisible precipice and his call for Milla becomes a shout of surprise, his hands now grasping for anything even vaguely solid to stop his fall.

After escaping from the inner ruins, and probably being separated from his friends again since they still seem totally unable to do things as a group, Jude begins poking around the outside. Seeing remnants of the sea on the architecture is extremely interesting, but it doesn't solve the question of where they actually are. And on top of that, a strange place means strange monsters, which is another reason why everyone else shouldn't have just run off. He knows he can't expect Leia to slow down, but really.
Jude shivers and wraps his arms around himself. The fog and mist suddenly feels extremely chilly. It's hard to see the sun, but that could mean that night is falling. Maybe they should try to find some proper shelter... What he doesn't realize is that his own fretting is causing the temperature change, and a small pocket of cool air follows him as he continues to pick his way across the broken pillars.
G: Open
By this point, at least an hour has passed, with no exit to the ruins in sight... which means Jude is expecting to hear some comments about eating from certain other party members. And so to preempt the "Jude! Make me something!" he's rooting around in their travel supplies to start cooking. There aren't a whole lot of options, since they'd expected their journey to be finished by now... but he can at least throw together a small meal with what they have. Of course, the smell of a stewpot might attract more than just Milla and Leia.
