Christmas 2011

Wow. Christmas 2011. It has came so fast and left just as fast. This past week I was bugging kelly about what he was going to get me for christmas. He had no idea until one night after work he spent hours shopping and trying to find me something. I knew it had to be good since he had his truck with him... which is never like him. Christmas Eve came and we went to Kelly's family party. Where we did a white elephant party and started off with eating a ton of food. :) I really enjoy his family they are so funny and kind to me. I was trying to get a clue from him about my gift but he wasn't going to crack and neither was his mom going to tell me. :)Earlier this week Kelsey came back to town and we went to Lucky China for our christmas tradition. I didn't really want to be there, but Kelly made me happier about the situation. I am so happy that I met someone who treats me so nice and is so patient with me.Christmas morning came at 7 am my parents came in waking me up.. I think they were more excited to open gifts than me; My dad was teasing me about not having a ring... (Kelly had always said it's not coming for christmas. But secretly I was hoping he was kidding) We opened gifts and Kelly came over for breakfast it was yummy. Finally I made my way over to his house to see my gift from him. Although, I could of peeked and saw my gift the night before I was still a good girl and didn't (insert applause here) So he put a hat over my eyes and carried me into his house where within the next 10 seconds he threw me on to something... I was kinda frightened that he just let me go but once I landed I realized it was soft... I took off the hat and I was sitting on a Zebra LoveSac. I was so happy and giddy. I had mentioned getting a LoveSac down the road but had no idea it was coming. He shocked me; after five minutes I realized that the whole last week he was giving me clues about Lovesacs but I wasn't paying attention. Nothing new there. After we had a good half hour to get ready for church, they moved up our singles ward to 11 am (best church time)... After church we went to his parents house and ate his dad's brunch and then opened some more gifts. (literally, my whole back seat was full with gifts from his family.) WE WERE SO BEYOND SPOILED! :) After, we rushed over to my grandma's and ste some more and then we left back to Kelly's Grandma till about 9:30. I love his family and I am a lot like his sister Krystal. Although his mom was so funny, by the time she showed up she said "Maggie, there is a 12 pack of Coke in my car. have kelly go get it" Ever since I have been around his family, I have been taken in. His Grandma drinks Diet Coke and well she now gave me my own Coke for when I am at her house. Kelly is very close to his Grandma. This past christmas she wanted her Grandkids to visit her every week for the whole year. And So far Kelly has visited her every week. He treats her so well and it makes me happy to see that he cares so much for her. She loves Taggart's Grill and last year Kelly bought her a gift certificate and told her that it was a date for him and her. She loved it, so he did it again this christmas for her. Although she told me she was sad that she was going to take him away from me. She is a sweetheart. For 85 years old she has traveled and traveled. I love talking to her.Well Christmas has been great. I love having my family here and seeing them. I love being part of a new family that is big but great. :) What a great Christmas! :)

Meet Kelly John Nelson

Image

That Would Be Kelly John Nelson and I at the Manti LDS TemplePhoto From: Marci Preece Photography.
Background story of how we met: This last summer I was dating a kid named Brandon, it only lasted a few weeks but after it ended it was pretty harsh and rude from both sides. One friday night my friends (keri, chelsea and kenzie maughan) were dragging me to a house in West Haven to a BBQ.They promised me that no one would know brandon.. I had no intention of wanting to be there or even going. But, after a few minutes being there I was content hence I had a cheeseburger and cute guys to look at. Although I wasn't totally out of my comfort zone and didn't say much. My friends went along and flirted it up and even scored some rides on some of the boys motorcycles. After talking to some people there it became known that more people knew of Brandon than I thought. That kind of made the night a little worse but we stuck around pretty late, roasting marshmallows and talking.
After that night it sparked some amazing friendships; every night till the end of summer me and my friends spent countless times over there talking to our new friends. Mike, Richard, Weston, Kyle and of course Kelly. We met some more friends along the way. We went dumpster diving, to firework shows and anywhere that sounded fun. Kelly later in the summer got a hot tub where we spent a lot of time as a large group. :) Although, I didn't really like any of the guys my friend keri went on a couple dates with Kelly. I started to realize throughout the summer how close I was to Kelly and how much I did like him. Keri started to notice when I kept telling her to date him. She would always say "Why don't you date him?" ...I never really knew what to say.
As school was approaching fast I started realizing how much I was going to miss hanging out at their house (The Bachelor Pad). These boys were like brother figures and I could never tell why none of them were married?! I remember talking to Kelly about school and how I wanted to stay close to him and talk as much as we could. He always said "Mag's you'll be fine, you can always call or text me." I remember he hugged me the last night I was going to be there and I started crying. As I moved down to Ephraim, he started talking to me weekly or calling to see how I was; he gave me the best advice and I started to call him Dad. Our relationship was just interesting and one of a kind. General conference weekend came around and he knew I would be home; he didn't waste any time and he hurried to take me out on a date. Most first dates are awkward and not much is said but the kid knows almost every thing about me. He wouldn't really tell me what we were doing it was going to be a surprise. Next thing I knew we were in Cafe Rio eating (the kid knows me pretty dang good as I said) after eating we went over to Wiseguys comedy club. It was hilarious and it started some more jokes between our relationship. That night I shortly realized I really did like him.
We kept talking and it wasn't too much longer he was headed down to Ephraim for a visit, the lucky guy met my crazy family and some crazy friends. We went to manti and ate at Fred's Restaurant (the owner is in my bishopric). After my family left, we sat and talked and then took a nice walk around ephraim. We sat off an alarm in the library. oops.. that was just the beginning of some adventures. We ended the day with a movie and he left back home.
Kelly, is a genuine hardworking guy. He treats anyone and everyone good. He work's hard and play's hard. He loves snowmobiling, he loves his dirt bike and bullet bike. He recently started his own business with his 'skidsteer' (pretty much moving and leveling out ground for people). He loves his family. Every Sunday night you can find him visiting his grandma and parents. He is the 6th of 7 kids. All of their names start with "K". He's the only one with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. What I'm getting at is he's pretty much an amazing guy. As my last post said he is a mechanical engineer... wrong, he graduated from WSU in manufacturing engineering. He works at Questar in Operations.
I am very lucky to be able to have the friendship and relationship that I do have with Kelly. He has taught me a lot and continues to always be someone I can lean on. He makes me want to work harder at school and to be better in anything I do. I love Kelly Nelson.
Sorry, if the post was too mushy.. but I felt like writing about him.
