Our 1st Christmas

Wow, it's weird to realize that it's already been a year since we started the marriage process. Christmas came too fast this year, between getting gifts and having parties at our house and doing things with family I wish I was like my sisters and would of had it done already.

We went on a fun date down to City Creek and to temple square with our friends Carli and Dan.. We do a lot with them, they recently got married! We ate at kneaders, man they have great eclairs. (Those are my favorite) we went inside a few stores, I got some pants and socks at H&M that were on sale!

Kelly wasn't very helpful with gifts and what he wanted, we decided that we would do something in our house either paint the kitchen and living room or do something to the hot tub. A few days before Christmas I decided to do the kitchen. Kelly and me had priced it at Lowe's and Home Depot, it came out to be quite a chunk of change, we ended up getting a deal from Chris (Kelly's brother in law) he was finishing his basement, and has a friend at a lumber store we ended up getting crown moulding for our bedroom and base boards for the kitchen and living room for half of what it would of been at either store. The only downfall is we have to paint all of it now. We bought a couple samples to test for our kitchen and living room, still not so sure about ripping everything out and doing this overall but, I can't wait to get rid of the tan walls! Eventually we want to change our cabinets as well! Kelly told me in the summer it would be a while before we would do any more painting...I wonder what he will say after 2 rooms and a hallway is painted and installed new base boards?

Well, I bought Kelly a remote controlled helicopter and he plays with it all the time. My dad, Landon and Kelly got one as well. I got Kelly his favorite drink IBC Root Beer, and some chocolate and the new Batman movie. My mom got him some circus peanuts!

I got spoiled with a fruit ninja card game, candy from one of our favorite stores on our honeymoon in grand cayman called Its Sugar.. I also got a zebra/tiger dress from Victoria secret and yes it's modest and long sleeved.. It's actually too modest for them to sale! I also got some cool cards my sister Marci made me, my mom just gave me a bag full of early diabetes. Kelsey gave us a iTunes gift card which will be nice.

Kelly's parents gave us an early present a years worth of food storage, it's six months for each of us. The boxes came one day and Kelly wasn't home I ended up moving them by myself it was 600 lbs. it is really nice and came with a cookbook, they spent a lot of money on it. They had said we were just getting cash not just 1500 dollars of food storage. Kelly was bummed because he thought Christmas was cooler, but then he realized he would have never bought that cool of food storage ever!!!

We got some honey from my principal at work, he is a honeybee keeper, it's probably 4 lbs of straight honey! We also got a couple lbs of semi chocolate chips from his grandma. We were spoiled again. My dance girls got us candy and lotion and tons of pop. I think I got enough lotion and soap from bath and body works to last for a whole year.

All of Kelly's family went in on a iPad for his grandma. She was so cute when she opened it up and the first thing that happened was her great grandson Zane asked if he could play with it. Those kids love iPads! Probably because the school has so many and we can take them home with us. In fact I have one that I can take from the school! :)

It was a fun Christmas and we had a lot of places to go and were so spoiled by my parents, Kelly's parents and grandma, my grandparents and siblings.

It was an awesome first Christmas!

Work, work, work and more WORK!

Fall was great, we had a lot of fun times!

Although, we have both been working a lot.. I love my jobs! The school is a lot fun and the kids get funnier and sweeter everyday even though sometimes it seems like they aren't improving its still a rewarding job. I love working with Kelly's mom. She is a hoot and I love getting into her big bag of M&M's! I sometimes get to work with her kids, they are a lot harder to work with but they are still funny kids. We do have problems with one kid who suffers from F.S.A (fetal alcohol syndrome) he gets rough and the cops come in quite frequently to take him home because he punches, kicks, bites and swears. He's only in 6th grade. We have problems with the dad being abusive as well! We know if he had a better home life we wouldn't have so many breakdowns and such! But overall it's really an entertaining job! Everyday is different.

Dance is fun too. It's awesome to see the girls learn and become better! Although, this year i have been left with a lot of things to do. I have taught a couple nights all by myself and choreographed a few dances. It is fun to be able to teach and be part of dance in a coaching way. The girls are the sweetest and I feel so spoiled to teach such awesome girls. Although the hours are long sometimes and it's one of those jobs you consistently think about! I know sometimes Kelly doesn't appreciate me being gone till 8 or later at night. But he is very supportive and thank goodness he is okay with bagel bites, burritos and sandwiches for dinner. I am looking forward to the competition season, we still have a lot to teach but I love watching them perform and spending all day at a competition. I also am teaching a few solos those aren't my exact favorite things to teach but they are nice to watch once they are done. I am doing the Alumni class this year, the jazz dance was easy for me to learn but, the tap has been rough! I haven't done tap classes for 7 years and I can totally tell!

Kelly, has worked pretty dang hard. Although he is relived now that he won't have another promotion for 2 years. He worked super hard to be able to have his one this year and he passed it! Woot!

Nala is now a year old she is just as playful and she isn't really a normal sized boxer! She is a runt but I like it because she can stay inside! She can jump high and has several tricks. Sit, lay and shake. All a dog needs to know. We got her fixed in November finally she is starting to chunk out a little bit but that's okay! Kelly wishes she was bigger, but he loves her and has changed his mind about being okay with her being inside!

House owners!

After a lot of paper work and some stress for everything getting done we became house owners on November 6th! :) yes, the day of election! We are excited about this, it's nuts that I am so young and own a house! My sisters thought it was strange! The good thing is that our payment isn't a whole lot more than our rent was. Now, we can start improving the home and have something to call ours! :) a big thanks to Kelly's parents who gave us the home and was so helpful throughout the process!

Changing Seasons & Times

September is here! Wow, I can't believe!
Big News:

Kelly and I just celebrated being married 5 months on Thursday!
I got a job at Sunset Elementary!
Getting closer to being house owners!

I have to admit I get spoiled by this boy. We went to Doolittle's Deli by the Ogden Airport. It was really good infact Kelly said "Zupas has competition now!" After, we needed to go to Walmart I was out of carpet cleaner and some baking soda for the fridge.. For some reason when I go shopping with Kelly, we always end up walking out with big items like a TV or this time a kennel for Nala!

We have let her sleep on the ground in our room, but we thought it would be nice to contain her just a bit while we snooze, since she now can FLY up onto our bed and land right on top of you! She is a crazy dog, loves to jump and play rough.. I hope the stage mellows by the time we have some hoodlums running around.

A few weeks ago we were talking about what will go on when we buy the house, I had only been working at Avante Photography and Dance Image. I wanted to find something a little more stable and something consistent in the day. Well, after a few minutes Kelly said I wonder if there is anything in the school districts. Well, after a phone call to his mom I applied for four jobs in Davis School District.

A couple days later, his mom called saying there would be an opening at her school in the Resource Department for a teacher aide. She said it hadn't been opened online but probably will shortly! She asked me to come in later that week to meet with the lady over Resource. I was excited because maybe it would help me get a head start after 80 people apply for it. Little did we know that my mother in law, told the lady about me and also the Principal at her school.. We sat and chatted for an hour or so, then they took me down to the office and I met with the principal. He asked me about where I grew up and I said Hooper. He then replied "oh, I live there", You know the next question: "What's your maiden name?"... "Malone"..."Oh, President Malone's daughter." ...after a little more chit chat, he told me he was a Bishop and in the High Council. I grew up with his son Scott, we luckily weren't close because he probably wouldn't of done what he did next. He walked me up to the head office lady and said will you get her a part time hire form?

Okay, so just like that I walked in thinking hopefully this job will come and I walked out with it not even being posted! Kelly, was shocked when I called and told him. I was a little nervous to start working just because I don't know much about Special Education & Resource.

I have now worked for roughly 2 weeks, it has been a fun experience. There isn't a day when you don't here something funny from someone inside that room. I teach 1st grade reading, 2nd grade reading, 6th grade reading, Kindergarten Handwriting/Math, 3rd grade math. I also take a few kids that are Self Contained. That practically means that they have tested to need at least 3 hours of Resource a day. I teach just 26 kids a day and we 45 in resource total. Sunset Elementary, is a very poor school. Its kind of weird to go to a school where they get breakfast served in class and where the kids don't have good home lives. It makes me appreciate, where I grew up and all the things my parent's let me be apart of.
Although, some of the kids don't know what a letter is or they don't even know how to hold a pencil, I hope I at least am making some difference for them.

Well enough of work talk...

As for our house.. We have been planning on buying it from Kelly's parents since day 1 we were married, although we didn't know we had to jump through so many hoops. I will be honest I know nothing about loans, interest rates, mortgage insurance and equity.. Kelly says he doesn't know it either, but he has to water it down a lot whenever we talk about it.

We have been working with Academy Mortgage. They have been awesome with finding us a loan and helping with all the weird things going on. We are hoping to get out of Mortgage Insurance, his parents would gift us the equity but, that all matters on how much it appraises for. We did find out that his parents won't get hit with any taxes by gifting it so that was a positive. We also found out that it is legal for them to sale it to us, even though were family. I honestly don't know who came up with that rule, but it was pretty ridiculous when we thought we wouldn't even be able to buy it from them just because of a same last name.

Although, his parents are going crazy trying to find a house that they would want to buy once we purchase our house, because they have so long before they get hit with taxes to roll it over. They have found some good ones, but some are Short Sales. Which I guess are pains in the  derriere because its bank owned! So once they find a house we can roll on through with getting an appraisal and maybe closing down on it.

The agent we've been working with is Logan Jenson. I actually grew up with his sister Brittney. We took dance together at Dance Image Studios and then we were on Silverline together. I love her so much, so when Kelly told me that's who it was I was pretty happy. Also, my dad works with their dad James. Logan has been very helpful and nice throughout the whole crazy questions we have had to ask.

We are hoping that by the end of the year we will have everything settled. Its one of those processes where you sometimes think it would be so much easier not to even start because of all the things you have to do.

Kelly, has got his promotion from work and also passed a welding test. Those were his two goals this year at work and he's done them both. He's very happy about that, and maybe because he's making more now because of it! I have to admit, I don't get everything he does everyday but after helping him study, its not just digging holes and gluing pipe together. He enjoys Questar but is hoping to move up the Ogden plant. Rumor is that there will be some openings soon. He applied there before and we found out they really wanted him but Salt Lake Questar didn't want any of there guys taken or transferred. So we are hoping this time they won't be stingy.

The other good news is the house across the street from us that has been vacant and growing weeds that look like trees was finally auctioned off. The people that bought it have already taken out carpet, taken the weeds out and cut trees. They are going to flip the house and sale it! I am so happy that someone bought it because, it will help with us and our house. I know that the chances of someone buying it without someone flipping it, it probably would have never gotten any better.

We have also been working in the yard. Okay, I take that back Kelly has been! I occasionally help mow the lawn but he enjoys using his hedger and skidsteer around the yard. We already have plans for the future of our yard like cutting down trees, planting flowers, taking out some plants and making our driveway a little bigger. Kelly has been a huge help in and outside of the house.

...Okay, If you are still reading this I applaud you! But, here is a funny thing that happened this week:

After work one night I was just a little upset about somethings and I was just worn out, Kelly of course still doesn't know girl hormones! As I was complaining he just looked at me and said "You know what you are fine for awhile with patience and then once you are done, YOU ARE DONE" ...I know I have  little patience sometime, but Kelly makes things better with some back tickles or a massage and glass of Coke. My problems are solved.

Leader @ Girls Camp? WHAT?

I have been put in as a Assistant Beehive Adviser!

I am excited about the calling and so far it has been fun! I absolutely love the girls that are in our ward! They are great girls and I think they are ten times stronger than I ever was!

Although, only being 2 years older than some of them is a little weird. I sometimes don't feel like a leader! I get along great with the girls!

We went to Stake Girls camp July 25th - July 28th! We went to Cinnamon Creek LDS camp.

A) it was my first time staying in a tent!
B) first time being a leader!

The laurels set up our tents because us leaders were clueless about how to set them up!

We made it the whole time with not one fight or anyone being homesick!

We sang so many songs and played tons of games.

We had the biggest ward, 36 in total with all of us!

The them for the camp was: Once upon a time...My happily ever after. Every ward had there own princess that they decorated there camp with. We had Princess and the Frog, I found a frog ball at Walmart and at first I wasn't sure if it was going to be totally lame but the girls ended up taking it everywhere we went, the dam, certification, the hike, every meal and he also slept in every tent! He was one spoiled frog!

Our girls were awesome and had great attitudes about everything. Although, being the youngest leader that means that you get played around with a lot! The girls would find stuff of mine and put it in the Lost & Found box so I would have to do a dance on stage to get my stuff back! They are smart girls!

They also asked me to prank some of there friends from other wards! :) It was pretty awesome! I ran around in a monkey suit! We took the new girls Snipe Hunting!

There was a dam that was close to our campground, we went one day with just our ward and the next day we went with the whole stake! They had rented kayaks for us, well I kind of had fun with our ward and we flipped a couple people let alone, I went to go out with some of our girls and I knew there was too much weight so I went to jump out and ended up flipping us all! it was quite funny although some other leaders in the stake weren't very happy with me for flipping them! I think they need to chill the HECK out! So many of the leaders had to shower everyday and be dressed in high class camping gear! I found it annoying! Us leader bummed it and were completely fine, and I think it means more to the girls when you can let yourself go for a few days and not care how you look worldly!

Although on the spiritual side they had some awesome speakers I loved Laurel Christensen she works for Deseret Book that spoke the first night, she had the girls stand up and say the first sentence of the Young Womans theme " We our daughters of our Heavenly Father who loves us and we love them!" ...they learned the significant of that statement! It really reminded me of that its not just something we say every week, that it truly means a lot because there is some people that don't even know that they could have just that! She also picked a few girls out of the audience and had people say what they loved about them! She picked a girl from our ward who isn't a member and wanted to come completely by herself, she had no clue in what we believed she seriously has some guts to come hang out! After we stated what we loved about her she did a Standing Ovation! Everyone stood up and yelled! That ended up happening the rest of the week weather it was for the cooks, the stake president, or the young woman presidency! The girls really took her to heart!

We had an awesome testimony meeting and great scripture studies while we were there! I really enjoyed girls camp as a leader and I am glad that I went even though I didn't want to! Thanks Kelly for forcing me!

July Update

Image
I have been spending a lot of time with my "kids"... I don't need kids when I see almost 60 every single week. They have been working hard at Dance Image and I absolutely love my job!

Image

We went up to Bear Lake for the 4th with all of Kelly's family. We played with the kids, went kayaking on the lake and hung out on the private beach, did some 4-wheeling and even sported some cool shirts that we made. Yes, it was found on Pinterest.
Image
As much as Kelly doesn't like Pinterest he can't be to mean about it now because we have almost fully completed our room the only thing left is crown molding. We spent a ton of time painting our room between two coats of gray on everything and taping off everything for the Chevron, we are so happy how it turned out its not your average master bedroom! I painted our sweet night stands and dresser the same color as our Chevron and ceiling. It was our first overhaul and Kelly now says we are done for awhile. Probably because the next thing I want to do is our living room and kitchen which will cost quite a bit!
Image
WAIT!!! did you stare at that picture?! And our huge child Nala?!

Okay, Summer was made for crafting I have done a lot this is just one of the many things I have made. My sister Kelsey has made fun of me because I have "wood blocks" everywhere! Little does she know its a Utah thing! I have also made some cool table runners and already am working on some fall crafts!
Image
We also went to a rodeo over the 4th! Kelly splurged and got me cotton candy it was a $1! I think he should of got me at least 4 more! :) The rodeo was fun and I enjoyed being with his family!
Image
For the most part, July was filled with lots of fun and family! We also went a couple times to the West Cabin and Kelly worked with my dad putting in a new deck and installing a new toilet! Married life has been great! Nala, is treated more and more like our child, she has grown tons and plays like crazy, rarely is quite! We joke that she talks back to us like a teenager! Kelly taught me the other night that Boxers are named that because when they jump and play they look like they are actually boxing. Now, I find it creepy because its true!

Projects never end!

The last week has been kind of weird, Kelly worked nights so during the day we spent it either at some store or cleaning around the house. We are becoming to realize that days just aren't long enough to get everything done!

We love our living room more and more everyday! We started on our next project making over our Master Bedroom. We painted for two days straight and at first we were unsure and it seems that on one wall the paint didn't blend even after wiping it down. So who knows we may have to paint again. We are going to put some crown molding up, I am trying to come up with ways for curtains and I am going to use our frames from reception in it! The walls are gray and the ceiling is blue, we are kind of using different blues everywhere throughout the room. I am kind of excited about this project but it will probably be awhile till its done.

In the middle of the chaos of that, I found a tv stand on clearance at Target and so well that meant Kelly had to set it up, it took him quite a while he said that he likes Ikea instructions better although he made fun of them just weeks earlier.

Kelly working nights isn't my favorite, I didn't have hardly any motivation to do anything and I just sat at my parents most of the week! I was really happy that yesterday he had the whole day off! We went to the Bountiful Temple at 6am with my parents, then we headed to the Apple Store, we wanted to get Apple TV. Then we went to Hogle Zoo, there wasn't much parking so we walked quite a ways to get there, I was complaining because tryouts for Dance Image this last week killed my legs! But we enjoyed it a lot we walked around for about 4 hours. Kelly loved the monkeys, elephants, giraffe's, polar bear... He was like a 3 year old! He told me the last time he went his mom had him on a leash on him, I wanted to put him on one!

I finally am starting to get back on top of cleaning the house, I despise doing laundry its never caught up! And I wish I cooked more than I do! We have been working in the yard more and more. Kelly got a hedger and he believes its the coolest thing! Our bushes are starting to look better. I have decided that next year I want to pull some plants out around our flower beds and plant some tulips and such. Who knows if I will really do it but I will try!

Nala, is now six months old! Wow right?! We got her a couple months before we were married. She is a energetic puppy and always has something in her mouth. We have been really lucky that she doesn't chew on any furniture or tears up anything. Occasionally she'll chew on a shoe but other than that she is fun to have around. We love running around the yard with her! She can jump so much higher now! We are going to get her spade soon so we don't have any other little ones running around! :)

...Please let me know that projects do end eventually?!

Rainy days make me productive!

I decided today that it is a good thing we don't get rain a lot because I somehow become more productive when its colder and rainy outside!

I have finally finished our living room and spent the day prepping for our bedroom. We finally are going to start painting the next couple of days since Kelly has work off and then 7 nights or work :( ...I'll take the two days off but not the 7 nights of loneliness

Yesterday, I got hired at Avante Photography. I am doing their packaging for the photos from dance studios, high schools, pretty much everything that gets photographed. I am doing all of the filing for it and making sure we get them out to where they need to be!! I am excited to work there since it will work well with Dance Image, I just am not as close to some people anymore so I kinda feel out of place now that I am married. Mainly, because I am never on my phone as much, and well I don't chase guys anymore...

Weird, Its only been two months and I have already changed so much!

Last night after I got home around 8pm I told Kelly I needed to run to Walmart since I didn't get to earlier, we only needed contact solution and I needed some makeup.. but we had to watch the Bachelorette first! (We count it as FHE) We wanted the trip to Wally World to be quick... well about a hour and a half later we walked out with what we need and a big black 55" LCD 1089 P LG TV... :) It was on Clearance it was already marked down a hundred dollars, but Kelly had to sit and ponder over if we should get it. Although it wasn't KSL he still got the manager to drop it 50 more bucks! I love my cheap husband!

Now I just have to find a TV stand I like and lets just say there isn't really much that I like! :)
Okay, I'll stop typing and post some pictures, I know you rather look at those that ready this?!
Here is the before and after of our living room! :)

The Breakdown:

The Zebra Chair started it all.. Kelly's mom got it from Kohls before we got married
(she called it an early wedding present)
Next was the White High Back Loveseat: I found it on KSL months before we got it, Kelly hated it
then right before we got married he said he'd get it for my birthday, 5 hours later it was set up. So it was never sat on and was orginally $500 dollars from Overstock.. we got it for (drumroll) $150
Next was the rug: We love to go to Ashley Furniture because we can get a good discount from Kelly's brother in law. But we were just looking for a couch for the room and ended up loving this rug.. It was priced for $200 we got it for $116
Next were the Gerber Daisies: While I was wedding shopping at Hobby Lobby, They had a sale on these...okay how could i resist, my favorite flower and its zebra printed! They were half off which made them $8 bucks each. (I went back and got a few more)
Next was the Coffee table: I went to Ikea and picked it up for $20 bucks it makes a great modern piece! :)
Last but not least my microfiber red couch: Once again I found it on KSL while Kelly wanted a black couch I got my way and he hauled this down a three story building and into our house. It is orginally from Ashley Furniture for $400 and we got it for $150 the girl really wanted $200! ...
(The pillows were from my bedding in college, I am planning to make a few more)
Hope you love our KSL, Hobby Lobby, Ashley Furntiture, Ikea, Overstock living room!

The Mr. & Mrs. Update!

Wow! Sorry it has been forever since I blogged... Well this is a few pictures of our wedding, wedding cake and honeymoon. We had such a great time on our cruise and our two day wedding turned out perfect! We went and saw some old mayan ruins in Belize, went to stingray bay at Grand Cayman, rented a scooter at Cozumel, and went to a private beach in Roatan. It was such a great week. Since we got home we were busy unwrapping gifts, I was busy deciding where to put everything and watching our dog full time, and going back to dance!

We have loved being married and we are so thankful for all the things people did for us! Thanks a million!
Today, I bought our mop... who knew that I would love getting a mop so much, I have cleaned our kitchens walls, living room and all of the floor. It hasn't sparkled like that since 1990. We have things kind of in order now. My regular day is like this: make kelly's lunch, do laundry, go back to bed, eat breakfast, organize or clean, go shopping/or dance, make dinner, clean more with Kelly, go to bed and repeat.. :)

I am actually shocked that I don't leave out nearly as much clothes as I use too. I always have clean clothes to wear, I enjoy cleaning the kitchen, doing dishes and being a wife! Life is surely changing but I wouldn't want it any other way. Last night, we bought paint for our bedroom. I am hoping that next week me and my mom can start painting! I really am so spoiled. I came home last weekend, opened the garage and there was a coaster bike sitting in the garage! Two nights ago I came home to some new nightstands that I told kelly about on KSL. I didn't think he'd actually get them! We finally got our new rug in our living room this week! We picked it out from Ashley Furniture and I am so happy to finally have it. My living room is just missing a modern black or white couch! I love my new Ikea coffee table and end table. We are also destroying the curtains in our family room and putting some good energy efficient ones up! I am sure Kelly wishes the projects were done but they will sadly never be done! I absolutely love how kind he is to me with all my crazy ideas and the way he will make anything I dream of happen! I really married the best possible husband I could of ever imagined! :)

Two Days.. 48 Hours

Wow...
Last night marci and kelsey arrived and my aunt vicky and uncle ben were here too! :) We ate dinner together. Although me and kelly showed up a little late we had to run to Deseret Book and Walmart for the cruise.

I am getting more and more anxious to have this over. I will enjoy it but I sometimes wonder why others are being so negative I guess that just comes with the wedding. Although, the ones who are being negative I can't do much about. :(

I am just ready to be on that darn cruise already!

Kelly has been doing a skid steer job for a contractor and so i haven't seen him much which is hard but i guess good because then I get more wedding stuff done.

I can't wait to become Mrs. Nelson!

Seven Days

Wow...
I feel like it should still be months away but its not! A week from today I will be almost walking into the temple to get married to Kelly! Woot Woot!

This week has been nothing but running around and getting things that we haven't gotten yet for the weeding. I started cleaning our house on Wednesday. It was good to somewhat get the things the way I want them! Although Kelly and Kyle were shocked about how everything looked when I was done. I simply cleaned out the closet and wiped down counters, cleaned the microwave (which is disgusting)!

Secretly, I wish that I could already have the two roommates gone so I could start putting the stuff that I do have where I want it. I also hope that when they do move out that they will clean up the things they did use. I am scared that we are going to come home from the cruise and have a nasty smelling house. :(

Last night, Kelly went after work and picked up a loveseat that I had been somewhat coveting for a while on KSL! He said its my birthday present, you know I almost forgot its my birthday thats coming up soon. Its a brand new loveseat the guy who had it got it at a auction from Overstock, it came with a bedroom set and he never even put it together, so it costs about 400 plus dollars and we got it for 150!

Invitations!

Well about a week and a half later I can say that I have sent out 260 invites.. I am going to send kelly's out today or tomorrow!

I can't believe this is easter weekend, the next weekend I go through the temple for the first time and then the next week we are married! Crazy stuff right!?

I better be getting on some wedding stuff! :)

Some Good News!

Kelly contacted the insurance company of the guy who hit me and they are coming out tomorrow to look at the truck and get things rolling on fixing it! :) HAPPY HAPPY!

Invitations are here and I am so sick of licking envelopes, stuffing them and writing a million zipcodes... oh well right?!

Nala has had a bump on her head for awhile she went into the vet last night and they said it just was inflamed so she is now taking a pill.. we don't even have to force her to do it!

Uhm, Kelly's family will be going on a cruise on Friday. Kelly & I have planned to knock out all 500 invites this weekend... :) Wish us luck.

I am very grateful for all the nice gifts people got us at Kohls and Target for my Bridal Shower. Its really going to help a lot although we are running out of place to store everything. I think Kyle & Mike are well sick of all the girly things that creep into there house.

I have now worked a full week with cleaning Kendal's house. Its pretty easy, her kids are adorable and she is way nice! :) Although, by the time I am done with dance I am not sure how to make it through it all!

Goals for the week:

Thank Goodness That Friday Is OVER!!!???

Well, Thursday day my mom and me went down to salt lake and picked up some new crafts at Wood Connection... Its like porn.
Then we stopped and picked up my WEDDING DRESS! ...I was so happy to finally bring it home! I had already picked up the hat, bracelet and brooch!
We ate at Costa Vida, one of our favorites...we printed off a couple pictures for the bridal shower this weekend.

After Kelly got home I drove over to his house and he helped me with one of my crafts its just letters for Nelson. I thought it would be something that we could have up year round and I did it in some basic colors. Kelly, actually did an AMAZING job. How many guys can you get to sit down and paint wood?! Well I sure can.

I went to leave later that night and my car wouldn't start... the starter was fine but it wasn't getting any gas to it.. So Kelly tried and tried starting it and he finally said you know what just take my truck! I have drove his truck several times I wasn't scared to take it and in fact I was very careful with it. I know its his baby even though he wouldn't admit to it. He does love it, which I don't blame him.

Early Friday morning, my mom and I ran into Riverdale to get some stuff at Joann's and Target. I drove Kelly's truck and thought it wasn't going to be a big deal. I tried to take back roads. Well on our way home we were coming down 5900 S. in Roy. When suddenly the van in front of me started to stop, I thought we were just slowing down until my mom yelled "BRAKE!" ...I hurried and slammed on the brakes. I didn't hit the van in front of me but I just looked out the rear view mirror to see what the guy behind me was going to do. He was also in a Ford F-350 truck. The next thing I heard was screeching brakes and then a little crunch. Kelly's truck was hit on the passenger side of the bed. Leaving the tail-lights broken, a bent bumper, tailgate was a little kinked and the side of the bed was bubbled over the tire well! After we were hit I instantly started crying. Not so much because I was hurt but I just had taken out my Fiancé's truck.

What had happened to cause the lady in front of me to slow down was that there was a pedestrian that was on the cross walk, he didn't have a flag with him nor was he going to stop so if she wouldn't of stopped. There was a chance that she could of hit him or I could of. The pedestrian normally has the right-of-way but at this time he shouldn't of been crossing the road at all for how many cars were there.

There was an off call paramedic who stopped to see if we were okay and he also called dispatch for us as we waited for a cop to come we saw two more people cross the road without a flag and they were not even paying attention it could of easily started another wreck...oh wait there already was one.

The pedestrian wasn't really all there he stopped and asked if we were okay but I don't think he even knew he was the reason that the accident started. ...Makes me angry. The pedestrian didn't stop and stay he just kept walking down the street.

Although, the guy behind me wasn't driving his truck just like I wasn't driving my own vehicle. He had dropped his car off at Ed Kenley and they had gave him a 'loner' which just happened to be a brand new Ford F-350 Diesel 2012. The same style as Kelly's just a different year. Although that truck was so new it wasn't even in the system for the cop to even look it up. Which started other problems because they don't stalk those cars with insurance and registration. Let alone how do you know which insurance it will go through? Ed Kenley's insurance or the guy who was driving it insurance? The cop was going to give me a citation because I didn't have my license he understood that it was my Fiancès truck and that he carries his insurance with him. Luckily my mom got a hold of Kelly and got all that information so we didn't have to try and get it to the cop later. Although lucky enough for me and the other guy neither of us got tickets.. the cops computer wasn't working. He was getting frustrated so he said he wasn't going to.

The interesting thing we learned is that cops don't find fault. They can't issue citations but they aren't the ones who blame anything... that is what the insurance companies do. Also we learned that I am not the best with trucks between the mailbox dent in my dad's truck and now kelly's truck. Kelly saw the truck later last night and he was okay with the fact. Obviously its not the best thing that could happen but he knew that it wasn't my fault and that it would all be worked through.

I was so scared all day that he was going to react really mean or something. Maybe because I am an emotional girl, but I just was frightened. Earlier this month we met with Kelly's Single Ward Bishop. He just wanted to give us counsel about marriage. He brought up a scenario that ..'maggie might come home with a dent in your truck and you can re-act one of two ways. You can say its okay I am glad your not hurt and I'll get it fixed.. Or you can be mad about the accident.' Kelly luckily acted the first way. We were very lucky to how it all happened and turned out. I just wonder had we been in my car or my mom's how much worse it would of been. We didn't feel much of an impact but you definitely would of with a truck that size if you were in a car.

What A Great FRIDAY right!??

On the bright side Marci took my bridals and they were AWESOME. A guy even let me sit on his Harley.. My dad was jealous and once we showed him the picture he said thats an Anniversary model that probably costed 26,000 bucks. WOAH. The guy was really nice and funny about it he drove it on to the curb and walked across the street trusting us with his bike. It was pretty dang awesome! :)

Moving Out.

Today I am hoping to start moving some of my stuff over to OUR house.

My mom is getting a little frustrated on my boxes that are downstairs since family will be coming and we are needing the space to finish some wedding plans. :) As for my dad every other day he says things like Move Out already... Although, what he forgets is in about 3 months he will no longer have someone to help him mow the lawn, clean up horse poops or anything else involving the LAWN MULE. I once was, gotta say getting out of the title is a bit awesome.

Although, every winter the basement creates this musty smell.. its pretty disgusting and well some clothes that I had smelt like this, I have washed them all but for some reason I can still smell that nasty smell..

The good thing is that my mom only allowed me to unpack two boxes so its not like moving away to college where you have twenty DI piles and your sister comes down for a week to organize things. It will go by fast. Its just the organizing at our house and putting everything we get where we want it.

I have made several comments about how the house looks.. don't get me wrong we are SO SPOILED to be able to live here. But, I am excited to be able to change it around and make it a home instead of a Bachelor Pad. Kelly, is a little scared for those changes but he does like the ideas I have and he is excited to help with them.

Lately, we just have been taking it slow on the whole wedding planning. We will ignore Marci's calls about the wedding. Although it is crunch time, I am extremely excited to send out our announcements. They have become so much more than I thought they'd ever be. We have a lot left to do but in 40 days it will be an enjoyable ride.

I will post pictures of our house soon! :)

A Pinch In Love

Sorry, I haven't blogged in awhile.. Anyways, its finally march.. I don't know if I should be glad its March or if I should want it to be January. Things are happening so fast and it seems like tomorrow we will be walking out of the temple. Okay in 44 days we will be doing that. As for now I am trying to finish up all the decorations, finishing the announcement, designing a cake, planning refreshments and designing the photo strip for our photo booth!

Although, my dear sweet sister Marci took our Engagement pictures not only were they fabulous but it was a great evening for pictures. We froze towards the end. We ended up with about 700 photos and to pick just one was the hardest thing! But I did it! I am just excited for people to get the invite in the mail.. Here are just a few of the pictures. We had gum balls, mustache & lips, chalkboard, frame... Such dang cute props. :) I am excited to see these in my house and at our wedding!

Okay So, We aren't mad, we are just "models" as Kelly's mom said when she saw it.

10 Weeks & 63 Days.. I'm Not Counting Down..

Well some of the biggest things are done like:
Union Station for the reception
I have a dress, shoes, hairpiece, bracelet..
Cotton Candy machine
Photo Booth
Temple Picked
Colors

Now its just the little things like the cake, finalizing invitations, decorations, napkins, flowers, ties.. okay so I guess the list of LITTLE THINGS.. aren't really little in themselves..

I am hanging in though, without the help and patience of my mom and sisters I'd probably still be in la la land and still just staring at my ring. (lie, I still stare at it)

I have come to realize that there are also a million plus one things I can do with our new house. I am so thankful we get that nice of a place but I am sick of the BACHELOR PAD. Don't worry I have made decorations to liven the place up although Kelly's roommates aren't really fans of a cute "LOVE" sign being on the front door.. :)

10 weeks till I have a new last name.. Lots to do, I guess I should enjoy it while it lasts.

Conversations Between Us

Well when your dating the topics between each other are: Do you want to go to dinner tonight? How was work? What are you doing this weekend?

...Then a change happens like getting ENGAGED..and. BOOOOMMMM...

Conversations:

"Do you like these colors or these?"

"What do you want to wear for engagements?"

"What are we doing for the luncheon, wedding video, gifts, decorating?"

"When we are married lets do this ______?"

"Can I paint this wall red?" "Uhm, I don't care just okay things through me first?"

"Do I get to keep snowmobiling?"

"Is it okay if I do this, this weekend?"

"Can we plan what we are going conquer tomorrow?"

"What about this cruise?"

...Yup, 100,000,000,000 things change once your engaged. I have loved it but I love it even more when nights are peaceful and we just can sit and enjoy each other like we did before we were engaged.

Kelly literally has been great through all this bridal, wedding craziness. Although sometimes he may think he's left in the dark I try to clue him in on what's going on. He's patient and if you know me then you pretty darn well know I need a guy that was patient. :)

Sweaters & Zebra

Kelly's mom loves Nala. She took her friday night and when Kelly picked her up after snowmobiling she was found sporting this doggy sweater. Which made me think of dressing her up more.. Okay my dog is turning into a person.
The sweater says: "Santa thinks I'm sleeping"
His mom found it at Walmart for a dollar.. its cute. I am already thinking of what to do for halloween costumes!

...Hmmm So this post says ZEBRA.. for christmas Kelly gave me the cutest ZEBRA LoveSac. His mom gave me this adorable ZEBRA chair from Kohls. I was so happy when Kelly told me what it was its an early wedding gift. The funny thing is that I have seen a chair that was just like this and wanted it and now I have it! :)

Cupid Day.

Valentines Day

One Word: AMAZING.
Kelly had bought tickets to Lady Antebellum. I love the group and almost know every song. Kelly however doesn't like them as much but he liked Darius Rucker and Thompson Square who opened. Kelly has sensitive ears so by the end he had a headache and was tired.

Kelly spoiled me and gave me some gorgeous white roses. A 12 pack of Coke and a bag of M&M's. He made a note that said. "You are the sugar of my life". He kind of is a stud!
While he was gone at work I went over to his house and made a trail of candy from his bedroom door to his bed and placed a HUGE card on his bed. He loves dippin' dots ice cream and so I bought him some and stuck it in his freezer he was happy about that. :)

New Adventure: Snowmobiling

I don't know if its because I love Kelly that I went snowmobiling or because it literally was a new adventure?!

Saturday we got up early and drove to Monte Cristo to go snowmobiling. Kelly's friends Brian & Bishop Thompson came along. I had never met them and I am pretty sure after that day they think Kelly is a very strong guy for picking me.

I thought that snowmobiling would be similar to four wheeling but instead of being hot... freezing cold. The weather wasn't bad.. but I learned its not like four wheeling because Kelly doesn't stay on trails they find there own path which led to me not knowing what to do when he stood up and leaned on one side..

Yes, I flew off the back of the snowmobile TWICE. The first wasn't bad but the second hurt! Although it was fun I was a little scared going up the huge mountains and jumping off some of the things we did.

Fact: Men have NO FEAR.
Fact: Men forget that the girl on back of their snowmobile DO HAVE FEAR.

Overall it was a great day and I saw how much snowmobiling means to Kelly. I told him that he can go next time with the guys and I will stay at home.. unless we can go "meadow riding".. Definiton. What Normal people do on snowmobiles not crazy people.

I am glad for the adventure and it almost accomplished some of my fears of heights and made me trust the machine we were on. Although we did burn through the belt luckily their was a back up one so we weren't stranded. :)

Please Welcome in Puppy Nala!

Oh geez. I promised to do better at this blog.. don't worry I will. Give me a break, I have a wedding to plan.

Okay so Kelly as wanted a Boxer for who knows how long. A few weeks ago my cat Nala died. It was sad to see her go but she lived a happy life. Although she is one of those pets you'll never forget teasing, petting and laughing at.

We were looking at dogs on KSL for a long time and I finally ran across one that fit budget and wasn't in no mans land. I told Kelly and he said we could go.. We drove to Salt Lake after his work and left with a cute female Boxer.

While we were their the owner said go get Nala. I immediately said is Nala her mom? ..The owner responded Yes. I knew right then and there that this would be Nala Jr. :)

Nala Jr The Second.

Born: December 10 2011
Color: Brown with white markings
We bought her on: January 26 2012

She is the cutest little thing, she is playful and was only 8 weeks when we got her. We realize more and more everyday that her bladder is tiny and that she makes accidents a lot. We realize that she doesn't like her Blue brand dog food and loves the rice stuff from Kelly's Mom. She gets more and more active. Kelly always has said animals will be outside.. I somewhat believed him until he admitted that she had slept in his bed with him in no kennel. He says his "heart grew two more sizes" ... I am trying to get him to soften up. She is kinda like raising a kid besides that she'll be potty trained and maybe a little well mannered faster than a toddler. :)

We love her and are happy to have a new edition to our family! :) Yahoo!

Lava Hot Springs. Fire & Ice Festival.

This past weekend Kelly & I and his friend Carli & Dan went to Lava Hot Springs. I had never been up there but was willing for the ADVENTURE. I am learning just how adventurous I have to be with marrying Kelly.

Friday we spent the day driving there, snowshoeing around some mountains in Soda Springs. Playing at the Caribou Motel (its been opened since the 40's). We went to a Comedy show as well which was really funny. Although for some reason comedians poke a lot of fun at Utah oh well some were funny..

Saturday we just hung out at the hotel till mid afternoon. Went snowshoeing again in a new place in Soda Springs. The Fire & Ice Festival happens every year. They have things for people to do, contests and surprisingly a lot of people go. This year there wasn't as many because they don't have much snow in Lava. We ate dinner at a good homestyle restaurant it was kinda like Moore's. Then we spent about four hours in the Hot Pots. I was not sure about the hot pots. One reason it is NOT Swimsuit season. Two I thought I was going to be getting in some pool that was like boiling.. I was wrong about both reasons because their were people who looked HORRIBLE and could be well great candidates for my favorite show "What Not To Wear". Also, the pots weren't that hot they range from about 102 to 109 degrees. I didn't mind the range of hotness and it actually felt really good besides there were a lot of people there it was still fun.

We have gone on a date before with Carli & Dan. They are a lot of fun and need to get married they have dated for almost a year and a half. Kelly & I will definitely convince them to get married. :)

Sunday we drove home and picked back up our puppy from his mom's house she just loves Nala. She made her some good chicken & rice dish. When Kelly got there to pick her up she was wearing a jacket from a stuffed animal. His mom also made a small blanket for her. We are SPOILED. Nala, really is a great puppy and is fun.. its just hard to juggle it all. Kelly had to go into work from 11 pm to 7 am that night so he didn't get to watch the Superbowl. He didn't seem to care to much he's not a huge sport fanatic like my father.

It was a great weekend. Kelly spoils me and loves me even though I am cranky and sometimes lazy. I love him very much and am thankful for what he does although a lot of the time I don't say "Thank You".. Its a 'Malone Girl Gene Malfunction' as Kelly would say.
Now Stare At Some Pictures Of Us:

Image
Kelly fell out of a tree.. Okay no, he broke it. He was trying to mimic a video on YouTube.
He failed... and in the process ripped his favorite jacket.. It was funny to watch though.

Stealing His Last Name.. Yup..Engaged.

Yesterday.. January 4th.

Was just a typical Wednesday.. aka Hump Day. You are finally over the hump of the week.

I had known for awhile that Kelly had the ring and I just was itching to finally get to wear it. Although he was nervous about it.. I mean come on who would be nervous of asking "Marry Me?" ..thinking.. okay probably the whole male population..

but anywho.. I was off to work at Dance Image. It was a long day of teaching and the girls were kind of driving me batty. In between my classes I looked at my phone and Kelly had texted me. "Do you want to go to Cafe Rio tonight?" I just was thinking yes something good is coming from this day.

He picked me up after work and we headed to Cafe Rio. But on our way he said we were going to Ice Skating after which I thought was odd since it was a weeknight that he was doing a date. He has a friend who's family owns a Sod Farm in West Point. When we pulled up I could see someone and a fire burning.. I was begging not to go ice skating. Of course he made me go up there to check it out.

Once we walked up there. There were flowers leaning on a rock and he was saying "Well these flowers are for you." ...I just kept saying no. So I walked to the fire.. then saw that he was kneeling down and digging in his pocket for something. He was trying to hold the flowers at the same time.. He then said. "Just like the fire illuminates the nighttime sky, I have been looking for someone to illuminate my life for eternity." ... I then looked down and saw him open up the ring box.. and inside wasn't a shiny ring there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...

He then frantically said. "You took the ring didn't you." ...i said uhmm ...no! I had no idea it was with you.. His heart sank and he was wondering what happened to the ring.. I then saw something shiny on the ground and asked what it was he then picked up what was the ring and asked "Will you marry me?" ... The four best words any girl can hear.

So remember that person that was standing by the fire when we pulled up well that was Kelly's friend Brad Zolts.. He was hiding in a bush once we got up there and then he jumped up and snapped some pictures of us right after i said YES! :)

New Years Eve

I will be completely honest and Kelly will agree. But I was hoping that he would of proposed at midnight...

Yeah but just like Cinderella losing her shoe at the ball.. I lost that battle.

Instead we spent the night at Bull Wars..I had a horrible attitude and didn't want to be there. Afterall, I bet half of my cousins were there and I didn't know it. It wasn't my idea of a New Years Celebration..

I finally got into a discussion with Kelly about it while we were stopped for gas because he knew I wasn't happy about it. So we went back to my parents and hung out with them. Unlike last year I was at some Single Adult Party. At my parents Marci & Landon, Kelsey & Curtis were there... We all had someone to kiss when the clock stroke midnight!

The night slowly turned around it was fun to be with my family and my lover boy.
