We are Expanding

Image

I am not by any means going to attempt a full update since my last post. I really have fallen off the blogging world and I don't intend to change that but for some reason I felt like posting today :) Mark started a new job in February so we have moved and bought our first house in July!! We are thrilled!!! Our most recent exciting news is we are expecting our 4th child to join the family next May. Also, my sister is expecting and due just before me!! How fun is that? I've thought about not finding out the gender but I'm not sure I can actually do it. I like to be able to prepare. We'll see...

Family Picture

 August 2012

It is obvious that I no longer keep up on blogging but I have really wanted to put a recent family picture up. Life is pretty crazy busy right now... I don't have time or desire to give an update so this picture will have to suffice.

a little update in our world

Oh it's been SOOO long!! Life is crazy busy and blogging is not even on the priority list. I've been working with Mark in the office as the Administrative Coordinator basically since the first of February. It's been such a blessing to live on the same street as my sister-in-law and that she has been able to watch 1, 2 or all 3 kids everyday while I'm at work. Usually we bring Lexi and/or Isaac with us into the office and they have their own room to hang out and play in. Working has brought a lot of stress into my life but there have also been lots of positive things...
Mark and I had our 7th wedding anniversary April 29th. It was Sunday so we didn't go out but Mark cooked steak and we pulled out candles and little plastic goblets for dinner with the kids.
Our little Kari is 18 months old as of the 1st of May! She thinks she is such a big girl and we all adore her! She went in to nursery a few weeks early and I was informed on her first day in there when it was time for prayer she started the whole nursery with the Indian ah-ah-ah-ah thing... you know, when you open your mouth and say "Ahhhhh" and put your hand up to your mouth and hit it over and over again... is there a name for that??? She's a lot of fun!
Lexi is all registered for Kindergarten in the fall and is excited to start going to school. She had to get shots in preparation for school and was such a brave girl. They had her sing the ABCs while a nurse on each side of her stabbed her leg. She made a little face but kept on singing and then they did it AGAIN! She sang all the way to Z.
Isaac is a pretty chill dude. He loves playing with his cars and running whenever he gets a chance.
Overall the Dahles are doing well and looking forward to summer time weather.

Caroling

Can you believe it's nearly Christmas?? I love Christmas time! It's been strange this year to not have any snow stay on the ground yet. Christmas day's forecast is supposed to hit 40. :( There might not be any snow this year. Last week we went out to the "south hills" to see some amazing Christmas lights. There was also a HUGE 2 humped camel there! I didn't expect it to be quite so big! Santa was there giving out candy canes too. As much fun as it was, our drive home was my favorite part of the night. We started singing Christmas carols and the kids sang loudly all the words they knew. It was one of those special moments I wanted to capture and remember forever. I even teared up a little. :)
As a family we went out the other night delivering goodies and caroling. It was SO much fun!! I loved it. Lexi and Isaac took turns giving the goody plate at every house. They were both singing so well. At the last house Kari even started babbling songs with us. Too cute!! The kids had helped a little with preparing our Christmas treats. I tried to teach them we were giving and sharing with others and that is what Christmas is about. Selflessness and love. Hopefully I get around to posting some sort of Christmas letter that wraps up our year but I may not..... In case I don't: MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! (to anyone who still checks my blog... which may be no one)

Happy Birthday!

A year goes by so fast! This little bee is ONE today! (my pictures are a mess since we haven't had internet... this is the best I could do for now) This little beauty poked her 1st tooth through at 5 months old. Now, she has 10. She took her 1st steps at 9 months and a couple days ago climbed up on the couch. Kari is the happiest baby ever! She is quick to smile and likes to wave. She gets very excited when her daddy gets home! We all adore her and are so happy she is in our family!! Happy birthday sweet Kari girl!

From McCall

Sorry the pictures didn't work last time... I'm not even attempting any this time. We are vacationing up in McCall Idaho for the weekend and have internet :) (My dad wants me to mention he walked by and said good night to the blogging world. haha)
Lexi is registered for a dance class this fall. I told her about it the other day and it was so fun to watch her mixed emotions. She was thrilled and nervous and excited! She said she was going to be the new girl and seemed a bit timid about that idea. I reassured her she won't be the only one there for the first time. She told me that she didn't want to go but she really does. I'm so excited to take her the first day and see what she really thinks about it. I hope everyone is kind and she feels included. She LOVES dressing up and dancing at home. I'm confident she will love it. She has seen little girls dance on stage when she has been to her aunt's dance recitals and she was fascinated.
Kari is 9 months now and took her first step August 7th! She has taken a few steps here and there and it's only a matter of time before she really takes off! The older kids love having her more mobile and making her part of their games. Kari has starting waving and babbling a lot. She is so tall and skinny. At her last appointment she was 28 1/2" (90%) and weighed 16.9 (15%). I love my baby girl!!! It is so amazing to me that I am able to feel so much love. I remember being pregnant with Isaac and being afraid that I wouldn't be able to love him as much as I loved Lexi because I loved her SO much. Apparently, there was nothing to be worried about because I am capable of loving all of my children SO much!! I wish I was better with words! I'm sure someone has written an amazing song or poem about a mother's ability to love. It's hard to imagine the love that our Father in Heaven has for us can be so much more then I have for my children!!

Sneak Peek

Image

Here is a quick peek at my growing girl. She is now over 8 months old!! Time sure flies! She has started sleeping 12 hours at night! I am a happy mamma! She is such a happy baby!

I am so incredibly behind on blogging but it is very low on my priority list. I may catch up someday but not today. Here are some random pictures. Most are from a reunion we had in Washington in June.
(Notice I have 2 new pairs of glasses! Also, I am contemplating a drastic hair cut in the near future. Any thoughts or suggestions??)

Totally Random Goodbye (For Now)

I've had difficulties posting pictures lately. I think it's my Picasa program. I thought I would give a random update before I say goodbye to the blogging world for a while. We will no longer have the internet for at least a few months. Maybe lots of months. Time will tell. So this may be my last post for a long while.

We had a nice Christmas break with Mark's family. We went sledding/snowmobiling. Lexi got to go caroling which she was anxious to do. She got to shake jingle bells and thought that was wonderful. Mark's little brother got engaged on 1/1/11 at 1:11am. That was pretty exciting!!
The kids had lots of play time with their cousins. I think it was good for Isaac to hang out with boys. He definitely has a big sister. Sometimes he dances around pretending he is a butterfly. Now, he's pretending to be a superhero too. He doesn't have a cape so he puts his coat hood on his head and "flies" around.
Kari got to play the part of baby Jesus in our reenactment of the Christmas story. She recently had her 2 month appointment and weighed 13 lbs 8 oz and was 23 3/4". She's a growing girl! She has just started really smiling. I LOVE it! It makes me feel incredibly good to see her smile!

I was called to be a ward organist in our ward... I don't play the organ. I did take a beginning organ class at BYU-Idaho but it was over 6 years ago! Last week was my first week playing in sacrament meeting. Other than really dragging most of the time and totally slaughtering the sacrament hymn, it went pretty well. Luckily, there is a cheater button so I don't have to play the foot pedals. Maybe someday I'll get brave enough to try them but that someday is a long way off. I will play for the rest of January and then I think I'll switch every other month with the other organist.

I'm actually surprisingly glad to take an internet break. I waste way too much time on facebook and reading blogs. I find myself comparing myself to others too often and getting discouraged by all the things I don't do and how I'm just not good enough. I think my hormones are still a little crazy and I'm still getting used to juggling three kids.
One down side of not having the internet is that I'm going back to pencil and paper 100% for my budget. I've been using Mint.com to keep track of money but it has too many issues and I was considering quitting anyway. Do any of you have a program that you LOVE for budget stuff?

One thing I really want to improve on this year is making dinner for my family. The problem is not that I'm a terrible cook it is that I just don't cook or better yet I don't know WHAT do cook. I can never figure out what to make. Then I stress over it WAY too much and then put it to the back of my mind until it's too late to really make anything. At this point I see 4 options 1- I still figure out something to make and we have dinner at 8:30! Way way too late! 2- I throw some chicken nuggets into the oven or whip up some sandwiches... 3- Have Mark make something yummy. That usually results in a super late dinner also... or 4- We grab a $5 pizza or some cheap fast food. I think that if I planned ahead and knew what I was going to make beforehand I would do SO much better. Making a menu is my only option and I keep failing...
I could really use some help. What I would LOVE LOVE LOVE are some recipes from you! Please Please! What is the meal you make most often? What meals do you take to ward members? What do your kids eat? What is cheap and easy? Anything! Don't assume that I already know how to make it. I don't care if you think it's boring. Just share. If you'd like, I will even put all the recipes I receive into one e-mail and send them to everyone that I received one from. (However, it could be a long time before I get that done since we won't have internet soon...) Please send any recipes to me at forevermommy at gmail. I would be SO grateful. (My family would be grateful too!!!) Please! I'm really begging here.

Mark blessed Kari in our Jerome 4th ward on December 5th. Popi, Great-grandpa Fisher, Grandpa Eric, Uncle Andrew and Uncle Lucas were in the blessing circle.

This is the blessing dress that both Lexi and me worn when we were blessed. The three of us also shared the blanket that is from my great-grandmother .
