Blogger vs Mare

I don't know why blogging is so difficult for me lately. I had these goals of giving a 2011 recap and a 2012 preview. Never happened. Probably won't happen either.

I thought I could show you what has been taking up my time though.

Is she not so sweet looking? Could squish her all day!

- Getting Licensed -
I took and passed one of the three tests I need to get my Special Ed License.

I woke up on the morning of to a very inspiring door. Thanks Loges!!

- Holding the Home Front Down -

Teresa has a baby and my parents think they need to take off and visit. What's with that? :) Glad they got to go and visit (even if they didn't take me). I took care of the Woodsters while they were absent.

Went over one cold morning and found that Woody had created his own poncho. I assume it was for warmth, but I can't guarantee that. Not bad for someone without any opposable thumbs.

- Counting Down -

I'll countdown by month, week, day, and hour if necessary. Anything to make it feel like we are getting closer to the actual day. Chris doesn't think anything but by week is encouraging. Whatever.

Chris is such a hard and helpful worker. :)

Life is busy, but good.

In 30 days I will be Mrs. Marianne Wynn!
I told you I like countdowns.

I have a post all ready to publish in drafts, but every time I preview it blogger changes the look of it. Irritation. Blogger changes = no posts from me.

Someone more blog savvy than I, please help!

Once upon a time ...

There was a girl who loved to babysit when she was a youngster. There was this one family that she really liked to watch. She loved that family and she sort of felt that they were family.

She grew up, but stayed close with this family, often spending hours upon hours chatting it up with the mama of the family and playing with the cute kiddos. They talked about school, work, life, etc. Part of these conversations were always devoted to boys and the blind dates the girl was going on. Generally speaking, these were always humorous stories because the blind dates were THAT BAD! (This girl has won contests for how bad these dates are. Seriously, they are that bad.)

Well, this girl grew up and graduated from BYU. She was trying to decide what she wanted to do (seems funny to try and figure that one AFTER you graduate, but whatever). Well, during that time she went to visit her good friend, the awesome mama from the family she loves. This family had a visitor, a very attractive male visitor. Come to find out ... it was a nephew. The girl and nephew chatted for a few minutes. She found out he was finishing up his Masters Degree in Accounting and she quickly joked that he must be boring. This girl grew up with a father who was an accountant so she can say that. Nothing came of the meeting though cause he left within the next few days.

Fast forward a few months, and the girl went to visit the mama and to see if the rumors of the attractive nephew being around were true. They were! The mama had been asking if she could give her nephew the girl's phone number and after finding out he was really down here the girl said, "YES!" They went out on their first a week or less later. Within the week they went out on their first date, and their second date, and maybe a third and fourth. Apparently they liked each other.

Then came a week of separation. The girl went with her friend to visit her hilarious sister in Omaha and he went to California with his aunt and uncle. Thankfully, cell phones allowed them to keep in contact.

Things picked up right where the two left off. They kept dating and liking each other. And after some time the liking turned to something else ... like love.

On October 4, 2011, this fella told this girl that they were going to go play games with some of his friends. He picked her up early to go eat dinner. When dinner ended and they had time to spare before meeting friends for games, he recommended they go for a walk along the Provo River Trail (a favorite of theirs). The girl agreed thinking nothing of it. After walking for a minute along the trail, the boy knelt down. The slightly dense girl asked, "What are you doing? Stand up." Then all of a sudden she saw the ring and realized what was really going on and started yelling, "Oh my! Oh my goodness! Are you serious? How is this happening?!" And then she did end the conversation by saying, "YES!"

Well apparently this handsome fella had decided it would be best to completely surprise this girl when proposing. She didn't know he had talked to her father. She didn't know that he had gotten the beautiful ring he inherited from his Great-Grandmother. She didn't know that the whole "game night" was a cover up. She was one happy clueless girl though.

Here are pictures from some of the fun things they do:

An update of sorts

Remember how I'm not so good at blogging?
It's been almost three months since I last posted. I should do a whole "update post", but ... I'm not going to do that exactly.

Here are some pictures of recent going ons:

Just hanging with the royals in Prince Edward Island. They were surprisingly less chatty than I had anticipated.

We were "deliciously scared" in the Haunted Woods of Prince Edward Island.

And I spend as much time as I can with this handsome fella.

Lions and Tigers and Bears ... Oh my

I got to go to Yellowstone for the first time in my LIFE this summer (back in June, a little delayed on the post I know). I didn't see any of the animals listed in the title of this post though. I didn't actually anticipate seeing lions and tigers, and was told my chances of seeing a bear were not good. This didn't stop me from holding out hope that the bears would perform for me on my very first Yellowstone outing. At the end of the day, zero bear sightings, but I didn't seem to mind.

I did get to see a lot of bison in Yellowstone. A lot. They were all over the roads, fields, and rivers. These large beasts were definitely the stars of the Yellowstone animal kingdom.

Image
I also got to see hot pots. They are quite pretty and also smell ... lovely. :)

Image
There were some beautiful mud pots to see too. So lovely, we took a picture in front of them.

Image
And what kind of a trip to Yellowstone would it be if we didn't see Old Faithful?
Not a complete one I hear.

ImageEven better?
A picture with the Old Faithful sign.

We ended the day in West Yellowstone watching the play Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in an old restored playmill.

Overall ... a successful first time trip to Yellowstone

Thank you Wynn family!

It's been a little while

Yes. Yes, it has been awhile since I have been a contributing member to the blogging community/world.

As much as I don't enjoy "catch-up" posts, that is exactly what this will be. I apologize.

1. Destination: Omaha, NE

ImageIf you look closely, you'll notice how Teresa and I are very similar

ImageMaintaining the favorite status with Sir Will

For more details on the adventures traveling to and from and while there read here, here and here.

2. Hanging out with these men (and their mothers, aunts, and occasionally dads)

3. National BYU Rugby Game

ImagePaul, Logan, Chris, Me, The Parentals

Rugby is a seriously intense crazy sport. I wish I understood it better. Still very cool.

4. Finishing out my first year of teaching

What a crazy year it has been. I have loved teaching and am excited that I get to continue with Provo School District next year. But before that I plan on enjoying my 3 month summer!

5. Trip to Boise to meet my newest niece Abigail Janet Stewart.

Unfortunately ... no pictures yet. I need to download them still. All you need to know is that she is adorable and I LOVE her.
